영문 초록

From the perspective of intersubjectivity, this paper first summarizes and analyzes the similarities and differences in the conversation sequence of the Korean and Chinese discourse markers “거봐” and “ (你)看/瞧”, and then focuses on the different concrete manifestations of intersubjectivity embodied in the two and their similarities and differences. We preliminarily came to the following conclusion that “거 봐” and “(你)看/瞧” have similar conversation sequence usage. The expectation of the speaker associated with “거봐” is generally the known information shared between the speaker and the listener, that is, the speaker has previously mentioned it to the listener. However, “(你) 看/瞧” can also quote new information unknown to the speaker and the listener before. The speaker reminds the listener that the following content of the discourse is the focus information, which is also the key information that the speaker wants the listener to pay attention to. Through the analysis of example sentences, we find that the intersubjectivity usage of “(你)看/瞧” is more diverse than “거봐”. “거봐 ” has a variety of uses such as evidence-attached notification, exhortative and remindful notification, blaming and complaining notification, consensual and inquisitive notification, and ostentatious and affirmative notification, all of which are concrete manifestations of intersubjectivity function. In addition to the five usages mentioned above, “(你)看/瞧” can also be used to inform new information.
