국문 초록

본 연구는 연기교육에서 현상학을 실천한 교육사례를 제시하고, 현상학적 연기교육이 연기자에게 미치는 영향과 의미를 고찰한다. 현상학은 주체가 대상에 대한 선입견에서 벗어나 자신이 체험하는 현상을 있는 그대로 드러냄으로써 인간과 세계를 새롭게 이해하고 경험할 수 있도록 하는 철학이다. 필립 쟈릴리는 연기교육에서 현상학을 실천한 교육자이다. 쟈릴리는 심리신체적 훈련(psychophysical training)에 기반한 교육방법으로 연기자가 자신의 몸의 현상을 주체적으로 체험하면서 신체와 정신의 관계를 새롭게 인식하고 발견할 수 있는 연기교육을 실천했다. 데카르트의 심신이원론에 저항하는 쟈릴리의 교육철학에서는 신체와 정신, 주체와 대상, 지식과 삶, 실기와 이론이 분리되지 않고 신체, 정신, 세계, 자아가 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 쟈릴리에게 연기란 모방과 재현을 넘어 육화된 의식(embodied consciousness)의 의미를 찾는 존재론적 철학을 가진 예술이다.

영문 초록

This study presented educational examples of practicing phenomenology in acting education and dealt with the effect and meaning of phenomenological acting education on actors. Phenomenology is a philosophy that allows the subject to newly understand and experience human being and the world while revealing the phenomena he or she experiences as they are. Philip B. Zarrilli is an educator who practiced phenomenology in acting education. As an educational method based on psychophysical training, Zarrilli practices phenomenological acting education that allows actors to newly recognize and discover the relationship between the body and the mind. In Zarrilli’s educational philosophy, which resists Cartesian dualism, body and mind, subject and object, knowledge and life, practice and theory are not separate phenomena, but the body, mind, world, and self are closely connected to each other. For Zarrilli, acting is an art with an ontological philosophy that goes beyond imitation and reproduction to find the meaning of our embodied consciousness.
