코로나19 전후 영유아 발달격차에 대한 영유아교사 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19(COVID-19) 전후 영유아 발달상황 및 발달격차에 대한 교사의 인식을 살펴봄으로써 코로나와 같은 유사한 상황에서의 영유아 발달권에 대한 사회적 인식 및 제도적 개선에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 부산광역시와 울산광역시, 경상남도에 소재한 어린이집과 유치원 교사 314명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 연구의 도구로는 보건복지부에서 제작한 한국영유아발달선별검사 문항을 본 연구에 목적에 맞게 연구자가 재구성하여 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 일원배치분산분석과 t검정 등의 통계적 방법을 통해 분석처리되었다. 연구결과, 코로나 전후 영유아발달에 대한 교사의 전반적인 인식은 코로나19로 인하여 코로나 전과 후 영유아 발달에 사회성, 언어, 대근육, 소근육, 자조, 인지 순으로 발달격차를 인식하고 있음이 나타났으며, 발달영역 중 가장 크게 발달격차를 인식하는 영역은 사회성과 언어발달에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 코로나19 전후 발달영역들 간의 격차를 영유아의 연령(2세~5세)별로 나누어 분석한 결과 모든 연령에서 발달격차가 유의미하게 나타났다. 그 중에서도 만2세 사회성영역에서의 발달격차가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과에 대한 논의에서는 교사-유아간, 유아-유아간 놀이 및 상호작용의 어려움이 발달격차를 초래한 주요한 원인으로 부각되었으며, 향후 유사한 상황이 발생했을 시 영유아들의 발달격차를 고려한 사회적 인식 개선과 필요성이 주요한 시사점으로 도출되었다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to analyze teachers' perceptions of early childhood development before and after COVID-19 to provide basic data necessary for social awareness and institutional improvement of early childhood development rights in similar situations such as COVID-19. In this study, a survey was conducted on 314 teachers of daycare centers and kindergartens in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and the researchers reconstructed and utilized Korean infant development screening items produced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The collected data were analyzed by statistical methods such as centralized distribution analysis and t-testing. This study showed that teachers' general perception of infant development before and after COVID-19 was recognized in the order of social, linguistic, large muscle, small muscle, self-help, and cognitive. Differences in development areas before and after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus were analyzed by age group (2-5 years old), and differences in development in all age groups were significant. Among them, the gap in the development of two-year-old children was the largest in the social field. The discussion of these research results emphasized the difficulty of interaction with play of teachers and infants as the main cause of the developmental gap, and emphasized the need to improve social awareness and consider the developmental gap in the future.
