국문 초록

지난 수십 년 동안 가정과교육 연구의 범위는 상당히 확대되어 이 분야의 교육학적 발전에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 저자들은 노르딕-발틱 지역의 가정과교육 관련 최근 박사학위 논문 14편을 읽고 그 논문들이 제기한 가정과교육의 미래에 대한 질문을 고찰하였다. 본 연구에서는 가정과교육이 누구를 대상으로 하며, 가정과교육의 내용은 무엇이며, 어떻게 가르쳐야 하는가의 세 가지 질문에 초점을 맞추었다. 저자들은 가정과교육에서 무엇을 어떻게 가르쳐야 하는지에 대해 숙고하면서 가정교과가 사회적 변화를 인식하고 그에 대해 진지하게 대응해야 함을 제시하였다. 문헌은 저자들로 하여금 가정과교육이 학생들이 비판적 사고와 반성적 기능을 갖도록 교육할 뿐만 아니라 가정교과를 가르치는데 교사들이 수업시간 부족을 극복하도록가정과교육에서 다양한 도구와 탐색적 학습과제를 이용하도록 권장할 것을 격려하였다. 본 연구에서 저자들은 가정과 교사가 사회 변화에 대응하기 위해서는 그들의 자율성을 발휘하여 가정교과 교육과정과 교수방법 및 가정과교육의 내용에 대해 비판적으로 숙고하고 개발하여야 함을 주장하였다.

영문 초록

The research scope of home economics education (HEE) has widened considerably over the last few decades, influencing pedagogical developments in this field. We read 14 recent dissertations related to HEE in the Nordic-Baltic region and considered the questions that these studies pose for the future of HEE. We concentrated on the following three aspects: to whom this kind of education is relevant, what the content is, and how home economics (HE) can be taught. We demonstrated the need for HE to recognise societal changes and respond to them respectfully while reflecting on how and what to teach in HEE. Our reading prompted us to recommend that HEE use versatile tools and exploratory learning tasks in teaching students critical thinking and reflection skills as well as in overcoming the feeling of time poverty when teaching HE. We argued that HE teachers should use their autonomy to critically reflect on and develop HE curricula and their teaching methods and content in HEE to respond to societal changes.
