지적장애 학생의 PBFL 수업 적용에 관한 참여 실행 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 PBFL 수업에 참여한 중학교 지적장애 학생들과 특수학급 교사의 경험과 변화를 관찰하고 특수교육 현장에서의 적용 가능성을 제안하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 목적을 달성하기 위해 연구 참여자의 실천적 참여를 강조하는 참여 실행 연구 방법을 적용하였으며, 연구 도구로서의 연구자와 1명의 관찰자, 8명의 지적장애 학생이 수업에 참여하였다. 참여 실행 연구의 절차(계획→실행→관찰→반성)에 따라 총 3회의 순환이 진행되었으며, 전 과정에서 수집한 자료는 반복적 비교분석법에 따라 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, PBFL 수업은 학생들의 개인적 성장과 더불어 ‘함께함’을 통한 학습의 상승효과를 경험하게 하였고, 교사가 수업에 대한 반성과 성찰을 통해 전문성을 신장하는 계기가 되었다. 둘째, PBFL 수업 과정에서 다양한 어려움이 나타났으며 원활한 운영을 위해서 학생들의 능력과 특성을 고려한 선행 준비와 지원이 필요하다. 이러한 결과는 PBFL 수업이 특수교육 현장에서 지적장애 학생의 학습 효과를 높일 수 있는 교수 방법이 될 수 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 후속 연구에서는 연구 결과를 바탕으로 선행 지식의 적용 시기를 목적에 따라 조절하고, 교사의 역량 강화를 통한 학생 중심 PBFL 수업 실현에 대한 노력이 요구된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to observe the experiences and changes of middle school students with intellectual disabilities and teachers in special class who participated in PBFL classes, and to suggest applicability in the field of special education. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, using a participatory action research method that emphasizes the practical participation of the research participants, researcher, one observer, and eight students with intellectual disabilities participated in the class. The study is proceeded three times in the order of planning → execution → observation → reflection according to the order of the participatory action research, and the collected data is analyzed according to the repetitive comparative analysis method. The results of this study are as follows. First, the PBFL class allowed students to experience personal growth and the synergistic effect of learning that appears in the ‘learning together’, and became an opportunity for teachers to increase their professionalism through reflection on the class. Second, since various difficulties appeared in the PBFL class, advance preparation and support are needed in consideration of the abilities and characteristics of students for smooth operation. These results suggest that PBFL classes can be a teaching method that can increase the learning effect of students with intellectual disabilities in the field of special education. Based on the results of the study, follow-up studies require efforts to adjust the application period of prior knowledge according to the purpose and to realize student-centered PBFL classes through strengthening teachers' competency.
