특수학교 교사의 Wee 클래스 활용 실태와 인식

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 전문상담교사가 배치된 특수학교 교사의 위클래스 활용 실태와 인식을 조사하여 특수학교에서 위클래스 활성화 방안을 탐색하는 것이다. 본 연구는 특수학교 중에 Wee 클래스가 있거나 전문상담교사가 배치된 특수학교 교사 103명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 주요 연구 결과를 보면, 첫째, 특수학교 교사의 약 25% 정도는 특수학교 교사가 제공하는 학생 상담 활동이 부족하다고 인식하고 있었다. 부족한 이유로 ‘상담 지식 및 다양한 기법 부족’이 48%로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 특수학교 교사가 전문상담교사에게 자문을 구해본 경험에 대해 약 52%가 경험이 있다고 응답했으며, 자문하지 않는 이유에 대해 ‘자문할 생각을 못함’이 42%로 높았다. 셋째, 학교에서 전문상담교사를 통해 위클래스의 운영계획과 이용방법에 관한 설명을 들어본 적이 있는가에 대해서는 ‘없다’와 ‘잘 모르겠다’가 54.4%로 운영계획과 이용방법에 관한 설명을 들어본 적이 없는 경우가 많았다. 넷째, 특수학교 교사가 생각하는 전문상담교사에게 가장 요구되는 역할은 무엇인가에 대한 결과에서는 ‘위기 학생이나 부적응 학생이 학교생활에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 하는 역할’과 ‘학생이나 부모를 위한 상담 프로그램을 제공하거나 교육하는 역할’의 비율이 상대적으로 높았다. 논의에서는 특수학교에서의 위클래스 활용에 관한 교육적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the ways to vitalize the Wee class in special schools by examining the actual situation and perceptions of the Wee class teachers assigned to special schools where professional counselors are assigned. This study conducted a survey of 103 teachers of special schools with Wee classes or professional counselors assigned to special schools. This study surveyed 103 teachers of special schools with Wee classes or special counselors assigned to them. According to the key results, first, about 25% of special school teachers perceived that the student counseling activities provided by special school teachers were insufficient. The main reason for the shortage was lack of counseling knowledge and various techniques as high as 48%. Second, about 52% of special school teachers answered that they had experience in seeking advice from a professional counselor, and as for the reason for not asking for advice, 42% answered that they did not think of giving advice. Third, as to whether they had ever heard the explanation of the operation plan and method of use of the Wee class through a professional counselor at school, 54.4% answered 'no' and 'don't know'. In many cases there was never. Fourth, looking at the results of what special school teachers think the most required role for a professional counselor is, 'the role of helping students in crisis or maladjusted adjust well to school life' and 'counseling for students and parents' The role of providing or educating programs' was high. In the discussion, educational implications for the use of Wee classes in special schools were presented.
