청허 휴정의 선풍과 계승

국문 초록

본 논문은 “청허 휴정의 선풍과 계승”이란 논제하에, 먼저 휴정의 선풍이 형성되는 배경에 대해서 시대적 배경과 사회적 배경, 그리고 종단적 배경을 고대 한국의 고승대덕과 휴정의 법조(法祖)와 법부(法父)까지 살펴보았다. 다음에 휴정이 선교를 회통한 부분에 대해서는 휴정의 저술을 통해서 선교회통(禪敎會通)의 사교입선(捨敎入禪), 돈오점수(頓悟漸修)의 선주교종(禪主敎從)에 대해서 간략히 검토하였다. 그 다음에 휴정의 조사선풍의 격외선지(格外禪旨)가 이루어지는 내용을 종지종풍(宗旨宗風)과 관련해서 중국의 조사선과 고대 한국의 조사선인 구산선문(九山禪門)과 중흥조들까지 전승하여 수렴된 내용을 고찰하였다. 끝으로 휴정의 선풍이 계승되는 내용으로 휴정의 문하 4대 종장인 사명유정ㆍ편양언기ㆍ소요태능ㆍ정관일선을 중심으로 검토하여 보았다. 이러한 휴정의 선풍은 산승들을 계도하는 저서로 우선 『선가귀감』을 찬술하여 선교의 올바른 이해를 바탕으로 승풍을 진작시켜서 조사선의 수일불이(守一不移)한 수본진심(守本眞心)과 본래성불의 조사관에 대한 수행체계인 돈오점수의 선주교종을 확립하였다. 이런 가운데 선교의 논쟁이 벌어지자 다시 『선교석』을 통하여 전통적인 『선문보장록』과 『선문강요집』, 중국 찬술의 전거를 인용한 선과 교를 판석하여 이를 회통하려 하였다. 그러함에도 불구하고 분쟁이 계속되자 『심법요초『를 저술하여 선과 교를 회통시키고, 선과 정토까지 일치시켜 회통하는 학문과 수행의 풍토를 삼문수학(三門修學)으로 확립시켜 조선 후기에 전승되었다.

영문 초록

This thesis first examined the background of the period and social background, and the background of jongdan about the background of the formation of the sonpung of adjournment, to the law and the law of the ancient Korean sonmaster and Hyujeong. Next, for the part in which Hyujeong repented of songyo, briefly reviewed the sagyoibson (捨敎入禪) by songyohoitong (禪敎會通) and sonjugyojong (禪主敎 從) by songyohoitong (禪敎會通) and donohjyumsu (頓悟漸修). I did. Next, Hyujeong’s investigation of sonpung’s gyegoisongi (格外禪旨) was transmitted to the Chinese investigation vessels, ancient Korean investigation vessels, ninemauntinsonmun (九山禪門) and the jung- Heungjos. The contents were considered. Finally, the contents of Hyujeong’s sonpung were reviewed, focusing on the four major elders of Hyujeong, samyeng Yujeong, Pyunyang Eongi, Soyotaeneung, and Jeonggwanilsun. This Hyujeong’s sonpung is a book that guides the mountain monks. First of all, he praised the 『Seongaguigam』, promoted the victory based on the correct understanding of songyo, and kept the one spoken in jyosameditation (祖師禪) and did not move keeping only one (守一不 移) and keeping the fundamental true mind (守本眞心). It established the sonjugyojong of donojeomsu, which was originally a system of conduct for the guarding and the gateway to the investigation of Seongbul. In the midst of this, when the missionary debate broke out, the traditional 『Seonmunbojanglog』 and meditation and doctrine quoted from the authority of Chinese chanting were attempted to repent through the 『Seonmungangyojyb』. Nevertheless, as the conflict continued, he wrote 『simbeobyocho』 to convert meditation and doctrine, and to establish the culture of meditation and doctrine in harmony with the son and to the pure land as sammunsuhak (三門修 學), which was passed down in the late Joseon Dynasty.
