국문 초록

본 연구는 방어행동 관련 변인들을 분류한 후 효과크기를 분석하여 비교하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내에서 2009년부터 2021년까지(국외, 2007-2021) 발간된 초․중등 학생을 대상으로 한 학술지와 석․박사 학위 논문 중 또래괴롭힘 방어행동을 주제로 한 국내 70편, 국외 41편, 총 111편의 연구물을 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 효과크기는 국내가 국외보다 유의하게 컸다. 둘째, 미시체계의 조절효과를 보면 국내는 개인, 학교, 또래 순이며, 국외는 개인, 또래, 학교 순이다. 국내는 개인이 큰 효과크기이며, 학교와 또래는 중간 이상의 효과크기였고, 국외는 개인과 학교가 중간 이상의 효과크기를 나타냈으며, 또래는 중간 이하의 효과크기를 나타냈다. 셋째, 국내외를 통틀어 개인 요인에서는 자아효능감․자기통제영역이, 또래 요인에서는 또래지위가, 학교 요인에서는 교사학생관계가 가장 높은 효과크기를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 국내외의 방어행동 효과크기에 대한 차이와 공통점을 분석하여 향후 국내외 방어행동 비교 연구에 기틀이 될 수 있으리라 여겨진다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the effect size (ES) of variables related to defending behavior and the moderating effect of study locations (domestic vs. foreign). A series of meta-analyses were conducted for 111 studies 70 domestic and 41 foreign studies including peer-harassment articles and master’s and doctoral theses were analyzed. The research participants were primary and secondary school students. The manuscripts were published from 2009 to 2021 in South Korea, and 2007 to 2021 in foreign countries. The total ES of domestic research was larger than that of foreign research. A moderating effect of study location was found, such that domestic studies reflected a descending order of individual, school, and peers, whereas foreign studies had an order of individual, peers, and school in terms of ES. Within the domestic studies, individuals showed a large ES, whereas the ES was medium for schools and peers. However, within the foreign studies, individuals and peers showed medium ES, whereas the ES was small for a school. Self-efficiency and self-regulation in the individual factors, peer status in the peer factors, and the teacher–student relationship in the school factors showed the highest ES, respectively, across the domestic and foreign studies. The current study demonstrates similarities and differences in defending behaviors between domestic and foreign research and can serve as the basis for future research on defending behavior.
