이혼가정 모-자간 의사소통에 대한 모래상자놀이 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 모래상자놀이가 이혼가정 모-자간 의사소통을 향상시키는지를 알아보는데 목적을 두고 실시되었다. 연구대상은 D시 M모자원에 거주하는 모자가정 중 부모의 이혼으로 인해 모-자간 의사소통에 어려움을 보이는 초등학생 아동과 그 어머니 1쌍이다. 프로그램은 이혼가정 모자간 개방적인 대화를 통한 가족구조의 변화 이해하기, 이혼에 대한 감정 다루기, 이혼 개념에 대해 이해하기, 문제 해결하기, 이혼의 지속성 인식하기에 중점을 두고 실시하였고, 프로그램 진행은 주 1회, 50분, 총 10회기로 실시하였다. 이혼가정 모-자간 의사소통 변화를 보기 위해 프로그램 이전․이후에 부모-자녀 간 의사소통 척도로 측정된 점수를 비교하였고, 회기 내 모와 아동의 언어적․비언어적 표현 변화를 의사소통 관찰 기준에 따라 회기별로 질적 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 모래상자놀이는 이혼가정 모-자간 의사소통을 향상시켰다. 부모-자녀 간 의사소통 척도에서 모와 아동 모두 기능적 의사소통 점수는 증가하였고 역기능적 의사소통 점수는 감소하였다. 둘째, 모래상자놀이는 이혼가정 모와 아동의 언어적․비언어적 표현을 변화시켰다. 회기가 진행될수록 모와 아동의 기능적 의사소통의 표현은 증가하였고 역기능적 의사소통의 표현은 감소하였다. 본 연구는 단일사례연구이기 때문에 연구 결과를 일반화하는데 한계가 있으나, 모래상자놀이가 이혼가정 모-자간 의사소통을 향상시키는데 효과적이었음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study aimed at examining whether sand tray therapy improves a communication in the mother-child dyad in divorced family. The subject of this study was a dyad consisting of a single mother and her elementary school child living in M single mother family shelter in the city of D, who had been referred to this study by a social worker due to problems in communication in the mother-child dyad. The program focused on understanding the changes in the family structure, management of the emotions regarding divorce, understanding the concept of divorce, problem solving, and understanding the permanence of divorce through open conversations in the mother-child dyad, and was conducted once a week, for 10 sessions, each 50 minutes long. To examine the changes of communication in the mother-child in divorced family, The score of comparing the Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory (PACI) before and after program between parents and child was used. In addition, each session using the communication observation criteria was qualitatively analyzed the changes in the verbal and non-verbal expressions in divorced mother-child dyad in the second research. The results are as follows. Firstly, the sand tray therapy enhanced the communication in the mother-child dyad. In the parent-child communication scale, the functional communications increased for both parent and child, and dysfunctional communications decreased. Secondly, sand tray therapy changed the verbal and non-verbal expressions of the divorced mother-child unit. Functional communications in the child and mother increased, and dysfunctional communications decreased with the progress of the sessions. Though this study is a single case experimental research, which might have limitations in generalizing, it can be seen that sand tray therapy works effectively on enhancing communication in the mother-child dyad in divorced family.
