초등학교 한글 난독 의심 학생의 읽기 수행 특성 및 읽기 어려움 유형

이 논문의 목적은 초등학교 한글 난독 의심 학생들을 대상으로 읽기 영역 간, 읽기 영역과 읽기 관련 하위 영역 간 관계와 읽기 어려움 유형을 탐색하는 데 있었다. 총 87명의 한글 난독 의심 학생들의 한국어 읽기 검사(KOLRA) 결과를 이용하여 상관분석, 회귀분석, 군집분석을 통해 읽기 영역 간 관계와 읽기 어려움 유형을 알아보았다. 분석 결과, 읽기 영역에 따라 하위 영역의 영향력이 다소 다르게 나타났다. 구체적으로 읽기 이해에는 해독과 문단글 읽기 유창성, 단어 해독에는 받아쓰기와 음운인식, 문단글 읽기 유창성에는 받아쓰기, 이름빨리대기, 단어 해독이 유의한 설명량을 보였다. 한글 난독 의심 학생들의 읽기 어려움 유형으로는 전반적 부진형, 음운인식 부족형, 해독 활동 부족형, 느린 처리속도형 등 최소한 4가지가 있을 수 있음을 보여주었다. 영어와 달리 자소-음소 대응 규칙성이 높은 한글 읽기 진단과 지도를 위해서는 적어도 음운인식 부진으로 인한 해독 정확성 부진과 처리속도 미흡으로 인한 읽기 유창성 부진을 구분하여 진단과 지도를 실시해야 할 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among reading domains and sub domains, and types of reading difficulties in elementary school students with suspicion of Hangeul dyslexia. Using the results of the Korean Language-based Reading Assessment(KOLRA) of a total of 87 students suspected Hangeul dyslexia, the relationship between the reading domains and the type of reading difficulty was investigated through correlation, regression, and cluster analysis. As a result of the analysis, the influence of the sub-domain was slightly different depending on the reading domain. Specifically, word decoding and paragraph reading fluency showed significant explanatory amounts for reading comprehension, dictation and phonological awareness for word decoding, and dictation, rapid automatized naming and word decoding for paragraph reading fluency. It was shown that there can be at least four subtypes as the type of difficulty in reading for students suspected Hangeul dyslexia: overall poor type, lack of phonological awareness type, type with insufficient amount of decoding activity, and type with slow processing speed. Unlike English, for the diagnosis and instruction of reading Hangul, which has high regularity in letter-sound correspondence, it seems that diagnosis and instruction should be carefully performed by at least distinguishing between poor decoding accuracy due to poor phonological awareness and poor reading fluency due to insufficient processing speed.
