영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the relations between sense of humor, stress coping style, and parenting stress of preschooler s mother. The subject were 304 mothers who have the children between the ages of three to five years old and the questionnaires were given ro them. Tl1e collected darn were analyzed by Pearson s correlation and multiple regression using SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. First, there were negative correlations between sense of humor at1d maternal parenting stress even at the level of sub-variables. In addition, there were positive correlations between emotion-focused coping and parennng stress. Secondly, both sense of humor and emotion-focused coping had a significantly influence on marernal parenting stress. Among the sub-variables of sense of humor and emotion-fornsed coping, meta-message sensitivity was the most infhential variable on maternal parenting stress. Sense of hllillor had a positive influence on maternal parenting stress, wl1ile emorion-focused coping had a negative influence on maternal parentmg stress. To conclude, multidimensional efforts are needed to help the preschooler s mother develop the sense of hmnor and reduce the use of emotion-focused coping skill. Tl10se efforts will bring some positive influences to relieve mother s parenting stress ai1d, by extension, to do the desirable parenting role on children s development.
