일본군 ‘위안부’ 국내연구의 현황 분석과 과제: 텍스트 마이닝(Text Mining) 기법을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회과학 전반에 걸쳐 확산되어 있는 일본군 ‘위안부’에 대한 논의 중 국내 문헌 연구를 통하여 기존 연구의 동향을 분석하고 현재 진행되고 있는 일본군 ‘위안부’ 연구의 실태와 쟁점을 비판적으로 검토했다. 1977년부터 2021년 10월 16일 현재, 국회도서관 일본군‘위안부’로 검색하여 나온 자료 1,597건으로 연구 패러다임의 변화를 가시적으로 전개하고 텍스트 마이닝(Text Mining) 기법을 사용하여 분석했다. 국회도서관에 게재한 자료를 중심으로 일본군‘위안부’에 대한 질적・양적 연구를 고려하여 시기를 태동기(1996년)→점화기(2004년)→확산기(2016년)→내재화기(현재)로 나누어 분석했다. 분석 결과 1분기에서는 학위논문에서 가장 많은 텍스트가 도출되었으나, 2분기와 3분기에서는 연구기관 및 학술단체에서 가장 많은 텍스트가 도출된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 1분기, 2분기, 3분기에 걸쳐 위안부와 일본군 텍스트가 지속적으로 많이 도출되었다. 1분기에서는 여성, 역사, 법, 피해자 순으로 부수적인 텍스트가 나타났다. 2분기에서는 한․일, 일본, 법, 역사, 피해자, 여성, 합의, 할머니 순으로 부수적인 텍스트가 나타났다. 3분기에서는 피해자, 역사, 일본, 여성(젠더), 한․일, 법, 기록, 페미니즘, 위안소 순으로 부수적인 텍스트가 나타났다. 일본군 ‘위안부’ 연구를 분석한 결과 다음 세 가지 과제를 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 연구 체계성을 정립하기 위해 양적 통계 분석을 바탕으로 시기 구분이 필요하고, 세부연구의 분류체계 확립, 활동가와 연구자의 이견 분리 제시 등이 있어야 한다. 둘째, 연구의 주제를 기존 민족, 국가 영역에서 피해자 개인의 삶을 조명해 보는 젠더, 기록의 영역으로 전환해야 한다. 셋째, 사회적 기억을 확장하기 위한 아카이브 작업을 적극적으로 해야 한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the trends of existing studies through domestic literature studies and critically reviewed the current status and issues of Japanese military ‘Sexual Slavery’ studies among discussions on Japanese military ‘Sexual Slavery’ spreading throughout social science. From 1977 to October 16, 2021, 1,597 data were searched for by the Japanese military in the National Assembly Library, and the changes in the research paradigm were visually developed and analyzed using Text mining techniques. Focusing on the data published in the National Assembly Library, the period was divided into the early period (1996) → igniter (2004) → diffuser (2016) → internalizer (present) in consideration of qualitative and quantitative research on Japanese military ‘Sexual Slavery’. As a result of the analysis, the most text was derived from the degree paper in the first quarter, but in the second and third quarters, it was confirmed that the most text was derived from research institutes and academic organizations. Many Japanese Military ‘Sexual Slavery’ and Japanese military texts were continuously derived over the first, second, and third quarters. In the first quarter, incidental texts appeared in the order of women, history, law, and victims. In the second quarter, incidental texts appeared in the order of Korea and Japan, Japan, law, history, victims, women, consensus, and grandmothers. In the third quarter, incidental texts appeared in the order of victims, history, Japan, women (gender), Korea and Japan, laws, records, feminism, and comfort centers. As a result of analyzing the Japanese military ‘Sexual Slavery’ study, the following three tasks could be derived. First, in order to establish a research system, it is necessary to classify the timing based on quantitative statistical analysis, establish a classification system for detailed studies, and present disagreements between activists and researchers. Second, the subject of the study should be changed from the existing ethnic and national areas to the areas of gender and records that illuminate the lives of individual victims. Third, it is necessary to actively work on archives to expand social memory.
