국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 부부갈등과 자녀와의 갈등이 노인 우울감에 미치는 영향을 성별 비교를 통해 살펴보는 것이다. 대전광역시와 충청남북도 일부 지역에 소재한 노인 관련 복지기관 및 단체의 협조를 받아 설문조사에 동의한 65세 이상이고 배우자와 자녀가 있는 노인 239명이 연구에 참여하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 26.0을 이용해 기술통계분석, t 검정, 교차분석, 상관관계분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 부부갈등은 남성노인의 우울감에만 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자녀와의 갈등은 남녀노인의 우울감에 모두 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 통제변수 가운데 남성노인 우울감의 유의미한 영향요인은 건강상태와 경제력이었고 여성노인 우울감의 유의미한 영향요인은 건강증진행동, 친구지지, 자녀지지로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 남녀노인의 정신건강 증진방안에 대한 함의를 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the effects of marital conflict and conflict with children on depression in elderly people, considering their biological sex. A total of 239 individuals, aged ≥65 years, with spouses and children participated in the study; they consented to the survey with the cooperation of social service centers for senior citizens and elderly associations located in Daejeon Metropolitan City and some regions of South and North Chungcheong Province. To analyze the data, descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, cross-tabulation analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were performed using the SPSS Version 26.0. First, marital conflict was found to have a significant effect on the depressed mood of elderly men. Second, conflict with children did not have a significant effect on the depression of both elderly men and women. Third, among the control variables, the health status and economic ability were significant influencing factors on depression in elderly men, whereas for elderly women, these were health promotion behavior, friend support, and child support. Based on the findings, practical implications for the improvement of mental health of both elderly men and women were discussed.
