전문성 개발 활동 개선을 위한 교사 인식 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 교사 전문성 개발 활동의 긍정적 특성과 교사 전문성 개발 활동에 미치는 지원요인과 방해요인에 대한 교사의 인식을 실증적으로 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경제협력개발기구(OECD)의 ‘교원 및 교직환경 국제비교 조사(Teaching and Learning International Survey; TALIS) ’3주기(2018) 결과 중 한국 교사 데이터(초등교사 3145명, 중등교사 2829명)를 활용하였으며, 학교급 및 교직경력에 따른 집단별 차이를 확인하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 초·중등교사 공통적으로 새로운 아이디어와 지식을 시연 적용하며, 활동적 학습을 위한 기회를 제공하는 전문성 개발 활동에 대하여 긍정적인 특성으로 인식하였다. 둘째, 초·중등교사 공통적으로 21년 차 이상의 고경력 교사들과 다른 경력의 교사 간 유의한 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 초등교사와 중등교사의 전문성 개발 활동 인식 여부에 따른 지원요인·방해요인에 유의한 인식 차이를 보였으며, ‘적합한 전문성 개발 활동 부족’이 공통적으로 긍정 인식 집단과 그렇지 않은 집단 간의 가장 큰 차이를 보였다. 연구결과에 따라 학교급, 교직경력별 대안을 제시하고, 교사의 전문성 개발 노력에 필요한 개선책 마련하는 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to confirm the positive feature of teachers professional development and support and barriers factors on teachers professional development. For this purpose, we used Korean teacher data from the Teaching and Learning International Survey 2018 and confirmed the differences school level and teaching career(3145 elementary school teachers, 2829 secondary teachers). As a result of the study, first, both elementary and secondary teachers recognized the application of new ideas and knowledge the provision of active learning opportunities as positive features. Second, there was a difference between the highly experienced teachers with more than 21 years of career and other teachers in both elementary and secondary schools. Third, there was a significant difference in support and barriers for both elementary and secondary teachers according to whether they perceived the professional development activities positively. In addition, the lack of appropriate professional development activities had the greatest difference depending on whether they perceived the professional development activities positively. Based on the results, we propose alternatives for each school level and teaching career, and try to help improve teachers professional development.
