놀이에서 나타나는 교사의 언어적 상호작용과 영아 놀이 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 어린이집 영아반의 놀이에 나타나는 교사의 언어적 상호작용과 영아 놀이가 어떠한가를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구 참여자는 강원도 K시의 J어린이집 영아 7명과 그 반의 담임교사 1명이었다. 연구를 위한 자료 수집은 2010년 6월부터 10월까지 총 40회 이루어졌는데, 주로 오전 자유선택활동의 놀이를 주 2～3회 참여 관찰하여 문화기술적인 연구방법에 의해 실행·분석하였다. 연구 결과, 놀이에서 나타나는 교사의 언어적 상호작용과 영아 놀이는 행동을 수반한 운율적인 언어적 상호작용으로 계속 놀이 하고 싶어요, 구체적 묘사와 설명을 수반한 언어적 상호작용으로 나도 놀이 할 수 있어요, 분명하고 엄한 태도를 수반한 언어적 상호작용으로 다시 놀이 해 볼 거야, 질문과 발문을 수반한 언어적 상호작용으로 이렇게도 놀이 할 수 있어요, 인정과 칭찬을 수반한 언어적 상호작용으로 혼자서도 놀이 할 수 있어요, 직접 보여주기를 수반한 언어적 상호작용으로 우리 함께 놀이 하자 등으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 놀이에서의 직접적인 교사-영아간의 다양한 언어적 상호작용은 영아들에게 보다 쉽게 자신의 놀이를 이해하고, 놀이 행동을 배우며 인정받게 하여 놀이에 대한 자신감과 성취감을 갖게 함으로써 영아 놀이를 유지·지속하고 확장하는 계기가 되었다.

영문 초록

This study examines the relationship between teachers verbal interactions and infant s play at a child care center. The research participants of this study are 7 infants and 1 class teacher in J child care center located in K city. Gangwon Province. This study used ethnographic research methodology for analysis. which included observations of participants playing free selective activities in the morning, 2 or 3 times per week. From June 2010 to October 2010. a total number of 40 sessions were conducted. The result of this study revealed that the relationship between teachers verbal interactions and infant s play can be interpreted as follows: rhythmic verbal interaction accompanying action. which means “I want to continue playing”, verbal interaction accompanying concrete description and explanation. which means “I can play”, verbal interaction accompanying obvious and rigorous attitude. which means “I will play again”, verbal interaction accompanying question and asking. which means “I can play like this”, verbal interaction accompanying permission and praise. which means “I can play alone”, and verbal interaction accompanying direct showing. which means “Let s play together.” Therefore, teachers direct verbal interactions with infants caused infants to understand and learn their play easily and recognize its value. Infants were given the opportunity to sustain and expand their play with a sense of confidence and accomplishment.
