숲유치원 교육과 누리과정의 비교 및 연계성 탐색연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 국내 유아교육현장에 소개되어 적용되고 있는 숲유치원 교육과 3-5세 연령별 누리과정의 구성방향과 목적, 5개 영역의 교육목표, 교수-학습방법 및 생활주제를 비교하고 두 교육과정의 바람직한 연계방안을 모색하기 위해 실행되었다. 본 논문을 위한 텍스트로 누리과정 총론, 교사용 지침서와 누리과정 해설서를 사용하였으며, 숲유치원 접근으로 교육과정을 운영하고 있는 대학 부설어린이집의 숲반 교사 2인과의 면담과 교사의 일 년간의 보육일지 및 반성적 저널, 참여관찰 등을 통해 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구결과, 숲과 자연에서 ‘교사없는 교육, 프로그램 없는 교육’을 지향하며 유아주도의 발현적 교육과정을 운영하는 숲유치원에 대한 우려와 달리, 숲유치원 교육은 누리과정의 구성방향, 전인교육을 지향하는 교육목적, 5개 교육영역별 목표, 놀이중심·흥미중심·생활중심 교수-학습방법과 생활주제를 충분히 실현할 수 있으며, 오히려 누리과정에서 지향하고 있는 유아교육의 핵심가치를 충실히 실현할 수 있는 유아교육프로그램임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 숲유치원과 누리과정의 연계성에 대한 구체적 논의도 함께 이루어졌다.

영문 초록

The present study compares and suggests continuity between Forest Kindergarten and the Nuri curriculum. For this purpose, I reviewed the philosophies of both curriculums, compared their educational goals, the objectives of five domains, teaching and learning methods and life themes to suggest the continuity of them. A child facility that runs a forest kindergarten education program was contacted and 3-5 years old children (n=17) were observed during recess for three months by a participant observer. Interviews with the forest teachers, child-care journals, and observation were used as data for the study. The results indicated that forest kindergarten and the Nuri curriculum are comparable in their educational goals, objectives, teaching and learning methods, and life themes. Moreover, forest kindergarten could reach a high level of achievement in terms of the Nuri curriculum standards. Finally, some major issues were addressed that could present connecting forest kindergarten with the Nuri curriculum.
