국문 초록

본 연구는 동화를 활용한 배려활동이 유아의 정서조절 및 또래유능성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 진주시에 위치한 사립 유치원 2곳의 만 4세 유아 45명을 대상으로 하여 실험집단에게는 매주 40분 이상 주 2회에 걸쳐 동화를 활용한 배려활동을 제공하였고 비교집단에게는 동화 읽기 활동을 하였다. 프로그램은 2013년 4월 29일부터 2013년 7월 5일까지 10주에 걸쳐 주 2회 총 20회 진행되었으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 14.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계, 분산분석 등을 실시하였다. 연구결과 실험집단이 비교집단보다 정서조절 및 또래유능성 점수에서 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 동화를 활용한 배려활동이 유아의 정서조절 및 또래유능성 증진에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study involved using carefully selected fariry tales to improve children s emotion and peer competence. The subjects of this study were 45 four-year-old children from two private childcare centers in Jinju, South Korea. All subjects were from similar financial backgrounds and were divided into two groups: the experimental group(n=20) and a control group(n-25). The experimental group engaged with intergrade activities that incorporated children s stories whose characters portrayed positive social skills for more than 40 minutes, twice a week (for a total of 20 sessions). Subjects completed both an emotional regulation ability scale and a peer competence inspection tool before and after program completion. Data were analyzed using frequencies, descriptive statistics, and variance with SPSS WIN 14.0. The results of this study showed that the experimental group had significantly higher scores for emotional regulation and peer competence than did the control group. This suggests that engagement in caring activities that make use of fairy tales have a positive effect on promotional regulation ability and peer competence in young children.
