국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들을 중심으로 Q방법론을 활용하여 좋은 부모에 대한 인식유형과 특성을 살펴보았다. 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들과 면담을 실시하고 좋은 부모에 대한 브레인스토밍을 실시하여 Q모집단을 선정하였다. 그 중 40개의 진술문을 추출하여 Q-표본을 만들었으며, 40명의 어머니들에게 진술문의 동의수준을 9단계로 분류하도록 하여, 그 결과를 PC QUANL 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 어머니들의 좋은 부모에 대한 인식유형은 네 가지로 구분되었으며, 각 유형은 ‘독립적 성장 기반 미래 지향형’, ‘균형적 발달 기반 능동적 실천형’, ‘부모행복기반 안정된 정서추구형’, ‘부모건강기반 일관된 양육 강조형’으로 명명되었다. 이 연구는 어머니들에게 스스로가 가지는 양육관, 양육태도에 대해 되돌아보는 기회를 제공하였다. 더불어 좋은 부모에 대한 인식 특성을 통해 효과적인 부모역할 수행을 위한 실제적 시사점을 도출하는 계기가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine perceptions regarding the types and characteristics of good parents among mothers with infants and young children using Q-methodology. After the selected mothers were interviewed, a brainstorming session about good parents was conducted with the participants, and a Q-population was selected. A Q-sample was created by selecting 40 statements, and 40 mothers were asked to rank the extent to which they agreed with these statements according to the given levels. The collected data were analyzed using a PC QUANL program. As a result, the mothers’ notions about good parents were categorized into four types, “futuristic value-seeking, in pursuit of children s independent growth”, “positive practice, in pursuit of balanced development of mind and body, “happiness-seeking, focusing on emotional values”, and “sustained role emphasis, focusing on physical health values”. This study provided an opportunity for the mothers to introspect and recall their parenting practices. In addition, by investigating the characteristics of good parents and examining the extent of their awareness, this research can provide practical suggestions on effective parenting to mothers with young children.
