전래 동화에 나타난 원형적 상상력과 유아교육의 미학

국문 초록

이 연구는 전래 동화가 담고 있는 무의식의 세계를 분석심리학적 시각에서 조명함으로써, 인류 보편의 자기완성적 신화와 무의식의 원형적 상징들을 드러내고 그 유아교육적 의의를 제시한다. 신화와 민담을 포함하는 전래 동화의 원형적 상징들은 액면적 텍스트 차원을 넘어서 인간의 삶 및 존재의 본질적 과제와 세계에 대한 근원적인 관계를 담고 있으며, 의식의 발달사인인격완성의 개성화 과정을 나타내고 있다. 이는 인류 보편의 열망인 자기실현을 향한 근원에의탐구를 상징하고 있는 것이다. 본고에서는 <콩쥐팥쥐>와 <신데렐라>의 분석을 통해 서사 구조와 심층심리적 의미를 예시적으로 드러내었다. 유아교육의 의의로, 전래 동화에 담긴 상징의중층적 의미 층위와 원형적 상상력의 미적 성격은 창조적 힘과 생명력을 제공하는 이미지중심교육의 원천이 됨을 논의하였다. 전래 동화가 지닌 교육적 힘은 바로 전래 동화의 내용이 유아에게 세계경이와 자기형성의 길을 암시하는 잠재진리로서 강력하고도 풍부한 신비적 상상력을제공한다는 데 있다. 교사와 유아가 함께하는 다양한 울림과 여운의 연행적 체험들로 전래 동화 활동을 개발할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

It is attempted in this study to explore aesthetic implications for early childhood education byilluminating the imaginative powers of the unconscious archetypes in fairy tales. Archetypalimagination in Marchen, myths, and folktales represent “individuation process of human psyche”,which is the developmental history of human consciousness, as Carl G. Jung discussed in his analyticpsychology. This includes an inquiry into human origin, that is, the universal aspiration toward theultimate goal of self-realization. In this study, theories of archetypes and unconsciousness imagination are explained in relation tothe motifs and narrative structures in Marchen. The individuation process of human beings isconcretely exemplified through the analyses of the Korean fairy tale “Kongjipatji” and the European“Cinderella”. These fairy tales are discussed in terms of their multiple layers of meaning, thesignificance of archetypal symbols, and the creative ambiguity which produce the powerful andemotional visions of unconscious origins. Some practical approaches to classroom teaching aresuggested such as incorporating performative activities. Examples include role-play, movement,painting, and chanting activities that show collective understanding and emotional ties to thearchetypes which can, in turn, serve as poetic metaphors amongst the teachers and children.
