숲유아교육 관련 연구의 동향 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 수행된 숲유아교육 관련 연구들의 동향을 연구주제 중심으로 살펴보고, 향후 이 분야의 연구 방향 설정을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2003년부터 2015년 사이에 한국교육학술정보원에서 제공하는 학술연구정보서비스에 탑재된 유아교육 관련 논문들 중 ‘숲’이라는 용어가 들어가 있는 105편의 학술지 논문의 주제를 이론적 고찰, 유아, 교사, 부모 관련 주제로 분류하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 숲 관련 유아교육의 교육철학과 목적이 숲이라는 공간을 통해 인간과 자연이 긍정적인 관계를 형성하게 되므로 지속가능발전교육을 추구하는 실천적 교육목적을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 숲이라는 공간은 유아들의 잠재력을 충분히 발휘할 수 있는 교육적 공간으로서 전인발달을 돕는 최적의 장소로 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 교사 및 부모들의 인식과 요구조사를 종합해 보면 숲을 전인발달을 위한 교육적 도구로 인식하는 경향이 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine domestic research trends in the field of early childhood education related to the forest setting and to provide basic data for setting the future direction of research in this area. To this end, the subjects of 105 academic journal papers containing the term ‘forest’ (covering papers related to early childhood education between 2003 and 2015 in the academic research information service provided by the Korea Education and Research Information Service) were classified into the related categories of theoretical discussion, early childhood, teachers, and parents. The analysis results can be summarized as follows. First, the educational philosophy and purpose of forest-related early childhood education served a practical educational purpose in pursuing sustainable developmental education: children were shown to develop a sense of responsibility for the community based on an ecology-centered education philosophy, by forming positive relationships with nature in the forest setting. Second, the forest setting is perceived as the optimum space in which to develop a well-rounded personality, enabling children to effectively realiztheir potential. Furthermore, in this setting children can learn that they are actively creating their own life path, together with the world. Third, the perceptions and requirements of teachers and parents demonstrated a tendency towards perceiving the forest as an educational tool, rather than perceiving it in relation to educational philosophy or purpose.
