국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 교사 정체성에 관한 국내 연구동향을 알아보고자 함에 있다 이를 위해 2000년부터 2020년까지 한국연구재단 등재지 이상의 학술지 논문과 석 박사학위논문을 합해 총 73편을 대상으로 연구시기, 연구분야, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구주제에 따라 분석하였다 이 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다 첫째, 교사 정체성 연구는 교육 분야에서 초등교사와 교과 담당 중등교사를 대상으로 진행되었고 2009년 이후 연구대상이 점차 다변화되고 있었다 둘째, 국내 교사 정체성 연구는 대개 질적연구 방법을 활용하고 있으며, 일반적 질적연구와 내러티브 방법이 많은 편이었다 셋째, 교사 정체성 연구는 교사 정체성을 복합적이며 유동하는 것으로 전제하고 교사 정체성의 양상과 특성, 변화 과정 탐색을 연구주제로 삼고 있었다 넷째, 교사 정체성에 영향을 미치는 주요한 영향요인이 ‘동료교사와의 상호작용’, ‘학습자의 반응 및 피드백(관계)’라는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 교사 정체성이 교사의 전문성 신장을 도모하고 소진을 예방할 수 있는 수단이 될 수 있음이 확인되었다 마지막으로 연구결과의 의의와 시사점을 논의하였다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the trends and the themes of research on teacher identity published in South Korea. To this end, a total of 73 research and dissertation papers published to the journals registered at the Korean National Research Foundation during the periods from 2000 through 2020 were reviewed for identifying the overall trends in research methods and scope as well as analyzing major themes. The major findings from the thematic analysis showed that previous research paid attention to groups of teachers who are likely to be outliers and have extraordinary experiences. In Korean teacher identity scholarship, teacher identity has narrowly focused on professional or vocational side of identity, rather than the entirety of individual identity of which sub-part has the profession of teaching. As in the teacher identity research conducted outside the Korean context, Korean research also found the fluid, paradoxical nature of teacher identity that is a continuous process of coherence and incoherence. Based on these findings, the implications and the suggestions for further research were discussed.
