예비교사의 환경교육 수업이 기후변화에 대한 인식과 환경소양에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 초등교사 양성기관에서의 환경교육이 초등 예비교사들의 기후변화에 대한 인식·지식·태도 및 환경 소양에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 B광역시에 위치한 교육대학교에서 환경교육관련 수업을 수강한 학생 55명이다. 본 연구를 통해서 내린 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등 예비교사의 기후변화에 대한 인식·지식·태도의 점수를 사전·사후 비교해 보았을 때 하위 요소 중 지식 부분에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었으나 인식 및 태도에서는 유의미한 차이를 보였으며, 전체적으로 통계를 합산하였을 때 환경교육 수강 전과 후에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 환경 소양에 미치는 영향을 각 하위 요소인 정의적, 인지적, 행동적 영역에서 비교해 보았을 때 정의적 영역에서는 사전·사후 검사 결과에 유의미한 차이가 없었지만 인지적, 행동적 영역에서는 환경교육 수강 전보다 수강 후 평균 점수가 높고 사전·사후에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통하여 초등교사 양성기관에서 실시하는 환경교육이 초등 예비교사의 기후변화에 대한 인식·지식·태도와 환경소양 함양에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 요인임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 초등 예비교사들에 대한 환경교육은 초등 예비교사들이 기후변화 및 환경 문제에 대해 올바른 가치관을 형성하고 바른 인식을 하는데 긍정적인 효과를 가져올 수 있는 중요한 역할을 할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the effects of environmental education on the perceptions, knowledge, and attitudes of preservice elementary school teachers regarding climate changes and environmental literacy at educational institutions for elementary school teachers. The subjects included 55 students that received lessons on environmental education at a University in a B Metropolitan City. The findings led to the following conclusions. First, preservice elementary school teachers were compared in scores of perception, knowledge, and attitude regarding climate changes before and after environmental education. There were no significant differences, but substantial variations in perception and attitude were found. The overall addition of statistics shows considerable differences before and after lessons on environmental education. Secondly, effects on environmental literacy were compared in the affective, cognitive, and behavioral domains. Although there were no major changes in the affective domain between the pretest and posttest results, the students recorded higher mean scores in the cognitive and behavioral domain after taking lessons on environmental education with large differences between the pretest and posttest results. These findings demonstrate that environmental education at educational institutions for elementary school teachers positively impacts the perceptions, knowledge, and attitudes of preservice elementary school teachers regarding climate changes and environmental literacy. Environmental education for preservice elementary school teachers positively affected their correct values and perceptions of climate change and environmental issues.
