병영생활 전문상담관들의 직업적응 경험 이야기

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 군에서 상담을 전담하고 있는 병영생활 전문상담관들의 직업적응 경험을 깊이 있게 탐색하고 이해하는데 있다. 연구 참여자는 한번 이상의 근무지 이동 경험이 있고 군 상담 경력이 3년 이상 되었으며, 현재 육군에서 군 상담 업무를 수행하고 있는 병영생활 전문상담관 2명이다. 심층면담을 통한 자료수집기간은 IRB 승인 이후로, 2019년 7월부터 2019년 9월까지이며, 참여자당 3회의 면담을 실시하였다. 본 연구는 경험을 연구하는 관점이자 방법론인 내러티브 탐구방법으로 진행하였으며, Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)가 제안하는 내러티브 탐구 절차에 따라 자료 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 참여자들의 살아온 이야기를 통해 병영생활 전문상담관이라는 직업을 선택하고 지속하게 만드는 개인적인 의미를 발견하였다. 또한, 내러티브 탐구가 진행되는 과정에서 연구 참여자들은 자신의 삶과 직업적응 경험의 의미를 발견하고, 그 경험의 의미는 그들의 삶 속에서 ‘다시 사는 이야기(relive)’를 통해 삶을 향한 구체적인 목적이 생성되는 것을 알게 되었다. 내러티브 탐구를 통해 나타난 병영생활 전문상담관들의 직업적응 경험의 의미는 ‘상담자가 되다’, ‘자기성장을 이루다’, ‘직업정체성을 형성하다’, ‘자기 길을 추구하다’로 드러났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의와 추후 연구 과제에 대해 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore and understand in depth the job adaptation experiences of counselors specializing in military life in charge of counseling in the military. The study participants were two military counselors who had move to work area one more experience, had more than three years of military counseling experience, and are currently performing military counseling in the army. The data collection period through in-depth interviews was from July 2019 to September 2019 after IRB approval, and three interviews were conducted per participant. This study was conducted as a narrative inquiry method, which is a perspective and methodology to study experience, and data analysis was performed according to the narrative inquiry procedure suggested by Clandinin and Connelly (2000). Through the life stories of the study participants, the personal meaning that made them choose and continue to work as a professional counselor for barracks life was discovered. In addition, in the process of narrative inquiry, the research participants discovered the meaning of their life and job adjustment experience, and the meaning of that experience was found to create a specific purpose for life through the story of reliving them in their lives. The meanings of the experience of professional counselors for professional adjustment to the barracks life revealed through the narrative inquiry were revealed as ‘becoming a counselor’, ‘achieving self-growth’, ‘forming a professional identity’, and ‘pursing one’s own path’. Based on these results, the significance of the study and future research tasks were proposed.
