국문 초록

본 연구는 교사로부터 낙인 받은 청소년들의 학교 경험을 질적으로 분석하였다. 비행청소년에 대한기존 연구들은 학교 및 사회의 권위체계가 정의하는 ‘부적응’과 ‘비행’의 관점으로 학교생활에 순응하지못하는 청소년들에 대한 병리적 접근을 강조하는 경향이 있다. 본 연구는 청소년의 역량강화관점을 근거로 학교로부터 낙인 받은 청소년의 주관적 현실과 목소리를 이해하기 위한 목적으로 현상학적 조사를 수행하였다. 연구 참여자 청소년들은 교사에게 ‘찍힌 아이들’로서의 갈등과 어려움을 호소하였으나그들 고유의 적응유연성과 잠재력을 갖고 있었다. 자기 긍정적 인식, 그들에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 지지체계의 활용, 현실에 바탕을 둔 진로설계 등을 위한 진지한 노력과 실천을 보여주었다. 비행청소년관점과 처벌일변도의 선도방식에서 벗어나 그들 청소년들의 고유한 심리사회적 욕구를 이해하고 그들의 적응유연성을 강화시키는 관점과 개입전략을 개발해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This phenomenological study is designed to explore the school experience of youths branded as troublemakers by their teachers. The earlier studies on juvenile delinquents have an emphasis on pathological approaches to maladjusted youths in their school with a view of maladjustment or delinquency . The purpose of this study is to understand the subjective realities and voices of the youths based on empowerment perspectives. Although they reported their difficulties and conflicts as youths branded as troublemakers , they demonstrated their resilience and potentials such as their positive self-recognition,their use of self-support systems, and their self-preparation for their future. This study suggests to develop the approaches and interventive strategies for the understanding of psychosocial needs unique for the youths and to reinforce the youths resilience by overcoming the perspective of juvenile delinquents and the pro-punishment guidance for the youths.
