코로나 19 상황에서의 사회복지실천경험

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 코로나 19 상황에서 사회복지사의 실천경험이 어떠했는지 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대구지역 사회복지관 사회복지사 5명을 연구참여자로 선정하였고, 질적연구방법을 적용하여 당시 실천경험을 수집 분석하였다. 분석결과, 연구에 참여한 사회복지사 실천경험은 네 개의 주제로 분석되었다. 첫째, 혼돈: ‘거리두기’ 틈새에서 일하기 둘째, 균열: 한계와 경계에서 고전분투 셋째, 변형: ‘거리두기’ 안과 너머에서 대안 모색 넷째, 반추: 긴 호흡에서, 다시 사회복지 본업(本業)을 생각함 이었다. 사회복지사들은 혼란스러운 실천 상황에서 가장 필수적인 것과 할 수 있는 것부터 시작하였고, 제한된 실천현장에서 두려움과 무력감을 느끼며 사회복지사로서 여러 딜레마와 갈등을 경험하였다. 변화한 실천현장에 대응하기 위해 다양한 방식을 고안하여 새롭게 시도하기도 하였다. 실천 과정 내내 사회복지사들은 사회복지사의 일은 무엇인가? 제대로 하고 있는가? 라는 사회복지라는 본업(本業)을 반추하고 성찰하고 있었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 코로나 19 당시 사회복지실천에 대한 기록, 공론화 작업, 코로나 19 이후 지역사회 회복을 위한 사회복지실천 과정에서 다양한 세대, 다양한 계층의 지역주민 참여 등을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to explore the experiences of social workers’ practice under the COVID-19 pandemic. This study conducted a qualitative analysis with five selected social workers working in the community welfare centers in Daegu, South Korea. The findings suggest that the social workers’ experience can be categorized into four themes. Firstly, confusion: working with ‘social distancing’. Secondly, crack: struggling with limitations and boundaries. Thirdly, transformation: seeking alternatives beyond ‘social distancing’. Lastly, rumination: rethinking social work in the long term. In the middle of confusion, the social workers in this study started with what is most needed and what can be done, and experienced various dilemma and conflicts as social workers from the fear and powerlessness in a limited practice field. In order to cope with the changed field, they also came up with diverse methods to try for the first time. During their practice, they reflected on what it means to practice social work and whether or not they are doing it properly. Based on these findings, this study provides suggestions for recording the practice during the pandemic, initiating public debates, and participation of diverse local residents from diverse backgrounds in restoring the community post COVID-19.
