국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 중년기에 접어든 40세 이상 미혼 여성사역자의 스트레스 경험 현상의 본질을 이해하고 의미를 밝히는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 40세 이상 미혼 여성사역자 중 선교단체와 교회사역자 7명을 선택하고 심층 면담하였다. 연구방법은 40세 이상 미혼 여성사역자의 스트레스 경험의 본질을 드러내기 위하여 Giorge의 현상학적 방법론을 선택하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 이들이 경험하는 스트레스의 경험요인은 4개의 구성요소와 28개의 하위구성요소로 나눠진다. 4개의 구성요소는 개인적 스트레스와 관계적 스트레스, 구조적 스트레스, 대처방식으로 분류하였다. 하위구성요소를 종합해 보면 참여자들은 우선 중년기와 미혼, 사역자로서 세 영역의 스트레스를 복합적으로 경험하고 있고 사역현장에서 다양한 관계 갈등으로 인한 스트레스를 경험하고 있다. 또한 여성에 대한 편견적 태도와 차별, 역할제한, 더는 사역할 곳 없는 미래 등 한국교회의 구조적 문제로 인한 스트레스를 경험하고 있다. 그리고 이들은 다양한 관계(자신, 지지그룹, 하나님)를 통해 스트레스를 해소하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 중심현상은 개인적 차원에서 소외와 책임, 관계적 차원에서 경쟁과 억압, 구조적 차원에서 차별과 편견으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to reveal the meaning of stress experience and to help understand the stress of single women ministers over 40. In–depth interviews were conducted with seven woman ministers who are involved in local church or mission organization. Giorge’s phenomenology method theory was employed to reveal the essence of stress experience. The test result showed that the elements of stress experience comprise of 4 structural elements and 28 substructural elements. The 4 structural elements are individual stress, relational stress, structural stress, and the method of dealing with it. Overall analyses of substructural elements reveals that the participants are experiencing composite stresses from three different areas as a single woman minister in their 40s, and also suffering stress from conflicts arising from human relations in the ministry field. Structural problems of Korean churches such as prejudice against women, limitation imposed on women in role play, and future promising no workplace for the ministry of the gospel are sources of stresses for women ministers. The study result also shows that Korean women ministers are releasing stress by engaging themselves in various relationships with oneself, support group, and God. Central phenomenon showed alienation and responsibility at the personal level, competition and oppression at the relational category, and discrimination and prejudice at the structural dimension.
