탈북 기독교인들의 신앙 여정에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 탈북 1세대들의 신앙 여정의 과정에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 3년 이상 기독교 신앙생활을 하고 있는 탈북 기독교인 13명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하고, Strauss와 Corbin(1998)의 근거이론(grounded theory) 절차에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과 하위범주 96개, 상위범주 20개를 파악하였고, 패러다임 모형에 의한 분석을 시도했다. 중심 현상은 기독교를 접한 이후 거부할 수 없는 ‘존재적 만남’을 통해 인격적으로 하나님을 받아들인 것이다. 이를 통해 참가자들은 하나님과 만남 이후 신앙을 발전시켜 나가며 체험적 사귐과 관계의 성숙으로 진행되는 과정을 이해할 수 있었으며, 탈북민이며 신앙인으로서 자신의 사명을 받아들이는 모습도 파악하였다. 이러한 탈북민들의 신앙 여정을 통해 한국 교회가 얻어야 하는 교훈과 함께 이들을 섬기고 통일 준비에 필요한 고려사항에 대한 함의를 제시했다.

영문 초록

The study explores processes of faith journeys of the first generation of Christian North Korean defectors in South Korea. For the purposes, in–depth interviews were conducted with 13 North Korean defectors having Christian faith over at least 3 years, and perceiving themselves as committed Christians. The verbatim records were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin’s grounded theory(1998) approach. In result, 20 categories and 96 subcategories emerged from the data, and also paradigm model was utilized for a data analysis. The central phenomenon is ‘an irresistible encounter with God as being,’ which accepted God personally. After that, the consequences showed that they keep developing their faith and maturing their relationship with God, and they accept their identity as North Korean defectors and callings from God. Through their journeys of faith, the study suggests lessons for churches to be learned in South Korea and considerations necessarily to serve them and prepare for reunification.
