교육과정 개정에 대비한 고등학교 기술과 선택교육과정 국제비교 연구 : 미국, 영국, 호주, 중국을 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 국외 기술과 고등학교 선택과목의 사례를 분석함으로써 차기 교육과정 개정에 따른 고등학교 기술과 선택과목의 구성 방안과 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 대륙을 대표하는 4개국(미국, 영국, 호주, 중국)을 선정하고 고등학교 기술과 선택과목 운영 사례의 특징을 파악하고자 하였다. 사례 분석을 위하여 연구진이 분석틀을 마련하여 각 국가별 특징을 분석하였으며, 각국을 우리나라의 고등학교 기술과 선택과목과 비교함으로써 시사점을 도출하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 도출된 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미국 코네티컷 주의 고등학교 기술과 선택과목은 공학의 다양한 분야에 대해 학생들이 선택할 수 있도록 구성되어있는 것이 특징이다. 둘째, 영국의 경우 고등학교 선택과목은 설계와 기술뿐이지만 내용 요소가 학생들의 다양한 진로 경로와 관련 되어있음을 제시하고 있는 것이 특징이다. 셋째, 호주의 경우 설계와 기술, 정보 기술로 나누어 선택할 수 있으며, 두 과목을 모두 수강할 수도 있는 것이 특징이다. 넷째, 중국의 경우 고등학교 기술과목이 필수, 필수 선택, 선택과목으로 매우 다양하게 제시되고 있으며, 공학과 설계 활동을 강조하고 있는 것이 특징이다. 다섯째, 국내외 사례를 비교한 결과 교과 명칭, 선택과목 구조, 교과 선택 학년, 선택과목의 내용 구성 등에서 유사점과 차별점이 존재하고 있었다. 이 연구를 통하여 진학 및 진로 의사결정 과정에 있는 고등학교 학생들에게 다양한 기술과 선택과목이 어떻게 제공 및 운영되어져야 하는지를 교육과정 개발 측면에서 고려할 수 있도록 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to derive the composition measures and implications of elective subject in Technology subject in high school according to the next curriculum revision based on the results of analyzing cases of elective subject in Technology subject in high school in foreign. In order to accomplish this purpose, the research team selected four countries representing the continent (US, UK, AU, CH) and was trying to figure out the characteristics of operation cases of elective subject in Technology subject in high school. To this end, the research team prepared an analysis framework, analyzed the characteristics of each country, and compared the four countries with elective subject in Technology subject in high school in Korea. The results obtained through this study are summarized as follows. First, the elective subject in Technology subject in high school in Connecticut, USA, are structured so that students can choose from various fields of engineering. Second, in the case of the UK, although design and technology are the only elective subject in Technology subject in high school, it suggests that content elements are related to students various career paths. Third, in Australia, students can choose between design, technology, and information technology, and can take both courses. Fourth, in China, Technology subject in high school are presented in a variety of required subject, required elective subjects, and elective subjects, and engineering and design activities are emphasized. Fifth, as a result of comparing domestic and foreign cases, there were similarities and differences in subject name, structure of elective subject, the grade in which the subject is chosen, and content composition of elective subjects. Through this research, it was intended to provide basic data so that various elective subject in Technology subject should be provided and operated to high school students who are in the process of going on to university and deciding on their career path to consider in terms of curriculum development.
