국문 초록

2015 역사과 교육과정의 적용과 새 교육과정 개정이 시기상 중첩되고, 고교학점제 시행을 위한 교과목 재편 요구가 전면화 되는 시점에서 역사과 진로선택과목의 개발 방향과 개발 원리에 대한 숙고가 그 어느 때보다 절실히 요구된다. 현행 고등학교 역사 교육과정 적용상 문제와 진로선택과목 개발의 기초 연구들을 검토하고, 현직 고등학교 역사 교사의 설문조사를 바탕으로 역사과 선택과목에 대한 핵심 의제를 파악하고 개발 방향 설정에 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 설문조사 결과 학생의 관심과 흥미를 고려하고 진로 탐색에 도움이 되도록 현장의 목소리를 반영한 과목 개발을 대원칙으로 하여, 교사들의 각기 다른 강조점에 따라 선호하는 주제를 구체적으로 확인할 수 있었다. 동시에 진로선택과목이 고교학점제 시행과 관련하여 제기하는 기대와 우려를 ‘선택’의 의미에 초점을 두고 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the way in which the current 2015 high school history curriculum has been enacted and kinds of changes should be made responding to the revision of National Curriculum and developing history electives. The review of the previous studies and the opinions of researchers on elective subjects highlights a foundation for developing new elective subjects and contents was presented in several directions. as well as confirmed the necessity of developing history elective. To identify the core agenda for and directions to develop the history electives, the survey was conducted and participated by 49 in-service history teachers nationwide. The analysis of survey indicates the topics of history electives that the participating teachers preferred according to the different emphasis in order of ‘film and history’, ‘field trip’ and ‘historical inquiry.’ While the teachers emphasized the new policy such as the high school credit system should take into consideration teachers’ and students’ ideas, they raise concerns students’ choices, allegedly based on students’ aptitude and career may lead to indiscriminate competition with long-standing high-stake college entrance exam and finally to the absence of history education under the guise of respecting students choices.
