국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한부모가정 자녀의 삶을 살아온 음악치료사가 자신의 죄책감에 대해 통찰하고 직면하는 과정을 통해 자신의 삶을 수용하여 보다 전문적인 직업발달을 이루는 것이다. 이를 위해 한부모가정 자녀이자 음악치료사 훈련과정에 있는 연구자의 죄책감 통찰 과정을 자문화기술지의 연구 방법을 통해 분석하고 기술하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구자가 한부모가정 자녀로 살아오면서 경험한 어려움과 타인에게 차별받지 않기 위해 거짓된 말과 행동을 했던 것은 한부모가정 자녀라는 가족 형태를 부정적인 시선으로 바라보는 편협한 사회적 인식과 연관되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 한부모가정 자녀이자 음악치료사인 연구자는 음악치료사의 훈련 과정을 통해 이전에는 인지하지 못했던 비합리적인 죄책감과 그 죄책감으로 인해 숨겼던 감정들을 직면하고 성찰하며 자기정체성을 확립해 나갈 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구의 결과는 연구자 한 개인이 사회문화적 배경에 대한 심도 있는 이해와 자기성찰로부터 보다 전문적인 음악치료사로서 성장하는 경험에 대한 생생한 정보를 제공하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to invest the journey of a music therapist’s self-awareness of guilt rooted from his nurturing environment fostered by a single parent. To this end, the music therapist researched his own journey of such awareness using arts-based auto-ethnography. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the hardships that the researcher experienced as a single-parent child, along with the dishonest speech and behaviors that he adopted to avoid discrimination from others, were related to the social bias that casts a negative light on single-parent families. In addition, the researcher was found to withhold feelings of loneliness and fear from those negative perceptions, even as an adult. Second, the researcher was able to establish his self-identity through the process of training as a music therapist by introspecting and confronting irrational feelings of guilt that he had previously kept oppressed, as well as other emotions that had been hidden behind such guilt. The researcher was also able to grow professionally as a music therapist throughout the research process. These findings are meaningful in providing insightful information on the researcher’s growth experience as a professional music therapist, based on his in-depth understanding of sociocultural background and self-reflection.
