국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 디자인사고를 적용한 교육전문대학원 원격수업에 참여한 유치원 교사의 개인적 경험 및 교육 실천과 관련된 경험을 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 인천광역시 A교육전문대학원 ‘유아미술교육 세미나’ 강좌를 수강한 21명의 유치원 교사를 대상으로 하였으며, 2020년 9월 첫째 주부터 11월 넷째 주까지 11주에 걸쳐 ‘미술 공간’을 주제로 디자인사고 적용 원격수업을 실시하고, 질적 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 디자인사고 적용 원격수업에 참여한 유치원 교사의 개인적 경험은 새로운 시도와 도전, 정서적 지지와 공감, 협력, 새롭고 편리한 온라인 소통으로 나타났다. 둘째, 디자인사고 적용 원격수업에 참여한 유치원 교사의 교육 실천 관련 경험은 유아⋅놀이 중심 교육의 가치 재확립 및 마인드셋의 변화, 공감에 기초한 유아 중심 교육 실천, 교사와 유아가 함께 변화를 만들어가는 교육 실천인 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 디자인사고를 적용한 원격수업은 유치원 교사로서 개인적 성장을 이끄는 경험은 물론 유아⋅놀이 중심 교육을 실천하는 데 필요한 마인드셋과 실제적인 경험을 제공함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 디자인사고는 원격수업에 적용 가능하며, 교사교육을 위한 새로운 접근법이 될 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the personal and educational experiences of early childhood teachers who participated in an online graduate class that applied design thinking. The participants of the study were 21 teachers who took the ‘Early Childhood Art Education Seminar’ remote class at a Graduate School of Education in Incheon Metropolitan City. The class lasted from the first week of September to the fourth week of November, 2020. The course was conducted under the theme of ‘art space’, and relevant qualitative data were collected. The results showed that the participating teachers had novel personal experiences and challenges through remote classes, which included emotional support and empathy, collaboration, and both the novelty and convenience of online communication. They additionally had practical experiences in re-establishing the value of child-centered and play-based education, practicing child-centered education based on empathy, and practicing changes in co-creating curriculum with children. The study confirmed that the course’s application of the relevant theme of ‘art space’ provided the participating teachers with new opportunities that led to personal growth as teachers in relevance to their mindsets and practical experience for child-centered and play-based education. Additionally, the study showed that design thinking has potential as a new educational approach for future teacher education, particularly in regards to online and remote classes.
