코로나19 시기 재한 중국인 유학생들의 학문공동체에의 포함과 배제에 관한 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본고에서는 코로나19 시기 재한 중국인 유학생들의 학문공동체에의 포함과 배제에 관해 내러티브 탐구방법으로 연구했다. 총 4명의 연구참여자와 개별 심층면담을 하였고, 수집한 자료는 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)가 고안한 ‘내러티브의 3차원적 탐구공간’에 토대해 분석했다. 연구 텍스트는 ‘상호작용’, ‘상황’, ‘지속성’의 각 차원을 개별 내러티브로 탐험하는 1단계, 모든 연구참여자의 내러티브를 한데 묶어 공통점을 찾는 2단계에 따라 검토한 뒤 차례대로 글쓰기했다. 특히 유사성에 바탕하여 내러티브 탐구를 한 결과, ‘코로나로 포함과 배제가 잇따른 사슬처럼 엮임’, ‘거부와 배제는 스스로 감당해야 할 몫’, ‘학문공동체로의 포함 돕는 손길과의 거리감’, ‘포함과 배제가 뒤섞인 속에서 한결 성장함’, ‘앞으로도 이어갈 학문공동체에서의 인연’의 5개 특성이 드러났다. 끝으로, 다문화 사회복지 발전과 유학생 지원에의 실천적 함의를 제공했다.

영문 초록

This study used the narrative inquiry method for inclusion and exclusion in the academic communities of Chinese students during the COVID-19 pandemic in Korea. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted with four research participants, and the collected materials were analyzed based on the ‘three-dimensional space of narrative’ devised by Clandinin and Connelly (2000). The study texts were examined based on first, exploring each dimension of ‘interaction’, ‘situation’, and ‘continuity’ in individual narratives and second, drawing commonality, binding all research participants’ narratives together, and writings were performed one after another. Specifically, the results of the narrative inquiry centered on similarity revealed five characteristics: ‘Inclusion and exclusion in the COVID-19 pandemic,’ ‘rejection and exclusion which they themselves have to endure,’ ‘a sense of distance from the touch that fosters inclusion in the academic community,’ ‘grown even with a mixture of inclusion and exclusion,’ and ‘long-lasting relationships in academic communities.’ Finally, it provided practical implications for the development of multicultural social work and the support of international students.
