국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국 영유아의 사회적 자본의 의미를 탐색하고, 영유아 관련 사회적 자본의 개념, 유형, 구성요소 측면을 중심으로 분석하여 그 의미를 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2020년 4월 기준 한국교육학술정보원(KERIS)의 학술정보DB를 단계적으로 검색하여 핵심 분석대상 연구로서 영유아(4편)와 양육자(4편)별 총 8편의 연구를 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석 과정에서 Bourdieu와 Coleman의 사회적 자본 개념들, 사회적 자본의 유형과 구성요소들을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 한국 영유아의 사회적 자본의 의미를 ‘영유아가 직접적으로 획득하는 가정 내·외의 사회적 관계와 간접적으로 획득하는 가정 내·외의 지원 및 네트워크를 통해 형성하는 유·무형의 자본’으로 개념화하였다. 이러한 사항들은 영유아의 발달을 사회적 자본과 관련하여 설명하려는 연구를 위한 기초 정보를 제공하고, 영유아의 사회적 자본 관련 연구를 자극하는데 기여할 것으로 예상된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of social capital for early childhood in Korea. Eight social capital studies related to early childhood development from KERIS online research archive, as of April 2020 were selected. Content analysis of the studies was conducted by taking the concepts, types and components of social capital accordingly as analysis categories. In the four of the eight papers the concepts of Bourdieu and Coleman and the types divided into inside and outside capital of the family were found. The components were related to the parent-child relationship and parental community exchange. Various social capital concepts including those of Bourdieu and Coleman, and the types divided into structural and relational dimensions were found in the other four papers. Trust, norms, and networks were included as the components in those papers. Based on the results the social capital for early childhood in Korea can be defined as the tangible and intangible capital formed through social relationships inside and outside of the family acquired by young children directly and through support and networks inside and outside of the family acquired indirectly.
