특별 프로그램 운영에 대한 대학부설 과학영재교육원의 인식 및 개선요구

국문 초록

현재 전국적으로 27개의 대학부설 영재교육원이 설치되어 각 영재교육원 별로 고유의 장점을 살려 영재교육을 실시하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 영재교육원마다 과학영재 교육원의 특성화를 목적으로 만든 ‘재원별로 운영되는 차별성 있는 프로그램’인 특별 프로그램의 운영 현황과 개선 방안에 대한 요구를 분석하여 대학부설 과학영재교육원 교육과정과 프로그램 운영에 시사점을 제공하는 것이다. 27개 대학부설 과학영재교육원 보고서를 분석하여 특별 프로그램 운영 현황을 파악하고, 그 결과를 토대로 설문지를 작성하였다. 설문을 통해 특별 프로그램에 대한 원장들의 인식 및 개선요구를 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보고서에 제시된 특별프로그램에 대한 운영현황을 알아본 결과 특별 프로그램을 특성화 프로그램과 같다고 인식하거나, 특별 프로그램을 특성화의 일부 혹은 특성화를 포함하는 비정규 프로그램으로 인식하고 있었으며, 수학·과학 단위 프로그램 외 다양하고 차별성 있는 프로그램으로 인식하고 있는 등 매우 다양하게 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 설문에 답한 13개 대학부설 과학영재교육원 원장들의 특별프로그램에 대한 인식을 알아본 결과 보고서와 마찬가지로 특별 프로그램을 정규와 비정규 교육과정의 일부 프로그램으로, 비정규 교육과정의 일부 프로그램으로, 정규 교육과정 외에 진행하는 모든 프로그램으로, 소외계층 사업이나 지역청 연계 사업과 같이 재원생이 아닌 학생들을 대상으로 한 프로그램으로 각각 다르게 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 특별프로그램 운영 개선 방안으로 13개 대학부설 과학영재교육원 원장들은 특별 프로그램에 대한 명확한 용어의 정의, 독자적인 특성화 지원, 연차평가의 개선과 적절한 예산 확보를 요구하고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같이 제언한다. 재단에서는 평가 지침을 더 명확히 구체적으로 제시할 필요가 있으며, 대학부설 과학영재교육원들은 소통과 교류를 통해 특성화 및 특별 프로그램에 대한 정의를 명확히 하여 각 과학영재교육원의 고유의 독자적인 교육과정 운영과 교육활동에 집중하여 영재교육의 내실을 꾀할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

According to KOFAC, special programs are differentiated programs operated by financial resources for the characterization of science gifted education institute attached to university. The purpose of this study is to analyze the special programs and needs of the institutes for improvement, and provide implications for the managing Science gifted education institute attached to university. Reports from 27 Science gifted education institute attached to university was analyzed to understand the current status of the special program operation, and a questionnaire was prepared based on the results. The survey examined the directors perception of the special programs and their needs for improvement. The results of this study are as follows: First, as a result of analyzing special programs presented in the reports, the special programs were recognized 1) as the same as the specialization, or 2) Special programs were recognized as part of specialization or as non-regular programs with specialization, or 3) as various and differentiated programs other than mathematics and science unit programs. Second, as a result of finding out the perceptions of the directors of the 13 science gifted education institute attached to university who answered the questionnaire, as in the report, directors were perceived differently as follows: the special programs are 1) a part of programs of the regular and non-regular curriculum, 2) a part programs of the non-regular curriculum, 3) all other programs except for regular curriculum, and 4) programs for students who are not affiliated with the gifted institutes, such as projects related to the underprivileged or associated with regional offices. Third, as a plan to improve special programs, the directors of the 13 science gifted education institute attached to university demanded 1) clear terms for special programs, 2) support for independent specialization, 3) improvement of annual evaluation and 4) securing appropriate budgets. In this study, the following suggestions are made based on these results. The KOFAC needs to present the evaluation guidelines more clearly, science gifted education institute attached to university clarify the definition of specialization and special programs through communication and exchange, so that each science gifted education center manages its own unique curriculum and educational activities.
