필리핀 봉사단의 ICT 활용 수업 및 문화교류 활동 사례 탐구

국문 초록

이 연구는 한국의 교사와 학생들이 필리핀 학교에서 ICT 활용 수업과 문화 교류 관련 봉사활동 사례를 질적으로 탐구함으로써 ICT 활용 수업과 다문화 교류 활동의 질 향상에 기여하고자 한다. 한국의 APEC 인터넷 봉사단은 2010년과 2011년에 필리핀 초등학교와 고등학교를 각각 방문하여 로봇 교구 등을 사용한 ICT 활용 수업과 문화 교류 활동을 펼쳤다. 연구자는 사례 연구 방법을 도입하여 2년간의 필리핀 봉사단 활동 과정에서 수집한 사진, 동영상, 현지 활동 일지, 보고서 및 참가자들의 소감문 자료를 분석하였으며 2016년에 현장교사와의 후속 면담을 진행하여 보완하였다. 이 사례는 교사 중심의 ICT 활용 수업에서 점차 학생들의 체험 중심의 활동(AEEP)으로 바뀌면서 ICT를 활용한 다문화 교류 프로젝트 수행이 상호간에 체험학습의 혜택을 제공하였다. 그리고 한국의 교사 및 학생 참가자들은 필리핀 학교현장에서 국제봉사학습의 부수적 효과를 얻었음을 보여주었다. 후속 작업으로 필리핀 봉사단 활동 사례를 2015년에 국내에서 진행되었던 글로벌브릿지 프로그램과 비교 고찰함으로써 교사, 학생 및 예비교사들이 얻게 된 교육적 혜택을 제시하였으며 ICT를 활용하여 탐구 기반 체험학습 활동을 확장할 수 있는 가능성을 모색하였다. 마지막에 국제봉사학습과 다문화 멘토링의 관점에서 한국의 교육현장에 제시하는 시사점과 후속 연구에 관하여 제언을 덧붙였다.

영문 초록

This study dealt with the cases of Korean teachers and students voluntary activities that were carried out in elementary and high schools in Cebu, Philippines in 2010 and Cagayan de Oro city in 2011, respectively. Based on a case study method, the cata collection included photos, videos, activity memos, and reports collected during the two years as well as follow-up interviews with field teachers in 2016. After analyzing the data, the major aspects of ICT utilization and cultural exchange classes were described. This case study turned out to gradually change from teacher-centered ICT-based class teaching to students experience-oriented activities (AEEP), and to be ended up with having mutual benefits for both sides by carrying out multi-cultural exchange projects using ICT. In addition, the Korean teachers and students showed that they gained the side effects of international service learning in the Filipino schools on site. As for follow-up research, the two cases of Philippine volunteers activities were compared and contrasted with the Global Bridge program held in Korea in 2015. The educational benefits gained to teachers, students and pre-service teachers were presented, and the possibility of expanding inquiry-based experiential learning activities using ICT was explored. At the end, the implications of this study and additional research comments were presented for the Korean educational situations.
