국문 초록

1980년대 이후 대학과 지역사회와의 연계에 관한 많은 논의가 이루어지면서 학생들의 지역사회활동이나 지역사회 참여가 증가되고 있다. 이 연구는 대학과 지역사회의 연계에 관한 보다 더 많은 정보를 얻기 위하여 세분화방법을 활용하여 학생들의 공동체 의식의 특징과 지역사회참여와의 연관성을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 자기기입식 설문조사를 통하여 321명의 학생으로부터 자료를 수집하였다. 학생들의 공동체 의식은 소속감, 연대감, 정서적 친밀감의 세 가지 요인이 도출되었다. 군집분석을 통하여 강한 공동체형(33.22%), 중간 공동체형(50.15%), 낮은 공동체형(18.50%)의 세 개의 군집이 도출되었다. 공동체 의식 유형에 따라서 사회인구학적 특징과 지역사회활동 참여에 있어서 집단 간 차이가 분석되었다. 본 연구결과는 학교-지역사회와의 관계와 운영하는 현장 실무자들에게 유의하게 활용될 것이다.

영문 초록

Since the discussion on linkage between university and community sector began in the 1980s, the interest in students’ community activities has increased. This study aims to examine the socio-demographics characteristics and community participation according to the sense of community using a segmentation approach to provide better information for linkage between university and community in Korea. A self-administered survey was obtained from 321 students in a university. As for the sense of community of university students, three factors (‘belonging’, ‘solidarity’ and ‘emotional affinity’) were extracted. Three distinct segments were identified based on the sense of community: high level of sense of community (33.22%), middle level of sense of community (50.15%) and low level of sense of community (18.50%). Socio-demographic characteristics and participation activities of each segmentation were also analyzed. The findings should be of interest to practitioners of school-community relationships and operation.
