한국어 교재 속 회화적 요소의 특성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국어 회화 교재 개발을 위한 기초 연구로 회화 중심의 한국어 교재에서 회화적 요소가 어떻게 반영되고 있는지 살폈다. 그간 외국어 교육 분야에서 회화 교육이란 문법 중심의 전통적인 교육에 대한 대안으로서 인식되어온 경향이 있다. 그렇기에 한국어교육에서도 회화 교육을 말하기 교육 혹은 듣기 교육과 말하기 교육의 결합적 차원에서 교재를 개발해 온 경우가 있다. 그러나 최근에 현장에서 요구되고 있는 회화 교육은 기존의 관점을 넘어선 회화만의 특성을 요구한 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 회화 교육만의 특성이 파악하기 위해 회화에 대한 개념적 검토에서부터 최근 연구를 살폈으며, 한국어 회화 교재를 다른 통합 교재와 비교하여 분석하였다. 일련의 과정을 통해 단원 구성의 측면과 내용 항목의 측면, 교수 방법의 측면에서 회화적 특성을 살펴보았다. 교재를 통해 살펴본 회화적 요소는 기존 외국어 교육의 입장에서 한 단계 나아갔다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 여전히 회화 능력이란 무엇이며 어떠한 항목으로 어떻게 가르칠지에 대한 원리가 정립되지 않았으며, 추후 회화 중심의 교재가 개발되기 위해서는 이에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

This study is a basic study for the development of Korean conversational textbooks and looked at how conversational elements are reflected in Korean textbooks. In the meantime, conversation education has tended to be recognized as an alternative to grammar-oriented traditional education in the field of foreign language education. Therefore, Korean language education has tended to recognize conversation education as a combination of speaking education or listening education and speaking education. However, conversational education, which has recently been required in the field, can be seen as demanding the characteristics of conversation beyond the existing perspective. Therefore, in this study, the conceptual review of conversation to understand the unique characteristics of conversation education was conducted, and the Korean conversation textbook was analyzed compared to other integrated textbooks. Through a series of courses, we looked at the conversational characteristics in terms of unit composition, content items, and teaching methods. The conversational elements discussed through the textbook are one step further from the perspective of existing foreign language education. However, the principles of what conversation skills are and how to teach them have not been established. and in order to develop conversation-oriented textbooks in the future, research on it must be done first.
