상처 입은 치유자로서 청소년동반자의 삶에 관한 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 상처 입은 치유자로서 청소년동반자 삶의 경험과 삶의 의미는 어떠하며, 청소년동반자 활동에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 3명이며 청소년동반자 상담 경험이 5년 이상인 자로 심층면담 후 녹음 자료를 전사한 인생이야기 조각들을 Connelly와 Clandinin가 제시한 내러티브 탐구방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 상처 입은 치유자로서 청소년동반자 삶의 경험은 ‘상처 입은 아이로 자람’, ‘고통 속에서 여물어 감’, ‘힘든 아이들의 동반자’, ‘동반자로서 희비(喜悲) 속의 삶’, ‘위기아이들과 함께 성장’이라는 5개의 대주제가 도출되었고, 이에 따른 소주제를 각각 하나씩 도출하여 참여자들의 사례로 기술하였다. 연구 결과를 토대로, 가족 체계적 · 사회 문화적 · 존재론적 맥락에서 상처 입은 치유자로서 청소년동반자의 삶의 의미를 상처 입은 자로서 삶의 고통 속에서 자기성찰 과정을 통해 의미 있는 진정한 존재로서의 ‘참 나’를 발견하고, 고통 속에 있는 청소년들을 희망의 세계로 이끌어 주는 등불 같은 존재로 성장해 나가는 것으로 해석하고 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to delve into what the experience and meaning of youth companions’ life as wounded healers looks like, and how it affects youth companion activities. A total of three subjects are the participants with more than 5 years of experience in the youth companion activity and counseling. Each participant‘s story through in-depth interviews was recorded, narrated, and analyzed according to the narrative inquiry method procedure proposed by Connelly and Clandinin. Five themes could be derived from the results of this study of the experience of youth companions’ life as wounded healers like these: “Growing up as a wounded child,” “Suffering and hardening,” “Preparing to be a companion,” “Experiencing joy and sadness as a companion,” and “Growing together with children in crisis.” Based on the results of this study, it could be interpreted and discussed as follows: In the context of family, society, and existential issue, they had overcome the considerable hardship to identify their ‘True Self’ through self-reflection. Furthermore, they have been thriving and guiding youth in darkness into the promising world like a beacon as youth companions.
