사회참여 미술활동을 통한 학교문화예술교육 프로그램 운영 사례연구

국문 초록

2015년 개정교육과정에서는 삶과의 연계성을 강조하여 새로운 형태의 교육핵심역량을 제시하였다. 그 중 심미적역량은 예술적 감수성 및 문화향유에 중점을 두어 학교에서의 다양한 문화예술 관련 교육활동의 중요성을 시사한다. 이에 본 연구자는 학생들의 실제 삶과 연계된 문화예술교육으로서 다양한 시도가 필요성하다는 것을 인식하고 사회참여미술로서의 게릴라가드닝을 활용하여 11회차의 학교문화예술교육 프로그램을 개발·운영하였다. 학생들의 삶에서 많은 부분을 차지하는 생활공간인 학교가 자발적 사회참여 거점공간으로 작용해야 한다는 기본적인 관점에서 출발하였으며, ‘학교 및 등하굣길 게릴라가드닝 프로젝트’를 통해 문화소외지역이면서 환경개선의 여지가 있는 지역사회의 공간들을 미술활동을 중심으로 자발적인 사회참여행위로 변화시키는 데에 주안을 두었다. 변화된 것은 지역사회의 시각적 환경만은 아니었으며 학생들은 활동의 주체로서 적극적으로 참여하여 지역주민과 교사들의 참여활동까지 유도하였다. 그 결과, 사회참여 미술활동을 중심으로 한 학교문화예술교육 프로그램이 삶의 즐거움과 지역소속감, 심미적 소양을 향상시키는 교육적 효과를 지닌다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 학교라는 실제 일상적 경험과 소통이 활발히 이루어지는 공간에서 문화예술교육을 실시할 때, 예술적 경험뿐 아니라 학생들이 스스로 사회적 문제를 해결할 수 있는 의사소통의 계기를 마련하며 그들의 문화와 직접적으로 연계될 때, 학생들에게는 교육과 삶, 예술이 일치되는 결과로 작용할 수 있다. 이것은 새로운 2015개정교육과정에서 지향하는 교육목적이며 학교가 수행해야할 교육적 변화로 연결되기 때문에 학교에서의 문화예술교육은 실제 삶과 깊숙이 연계된 다양한 형태로 시도될 필요성을 지닌다.

영문 초록

The new type of core competency in education was suggested at educational curriculum revision in 2015. Above all, the aesthetic competence which focuses on artistic sensibility and cultural needs shows the importance of educational activities at school related to various culture and arts. For being the researcher myself, developed and operated 11th korea Arts & Culture education program utilizing Guerrilla gardening as a social engaged art with recognition of the necessity of various attempts as an Arts & Culture education related to real-life of students. This was started from the basic point that the school which is the major living space of students has to be a spontaneous social-engaged strongpoint space. Also, it was focused on changing culture-alienated community spaces which have room for improvement to a spontaneous social-engaged activity with artistic activities through Guerrilla gardening project at school and space to and form school . Not only visual environment was changed at the community, also the students, the main participants, participated actively and induced local resident, faculty, and school officials to act. As a result, it was verified that Korea Arts & Culture education program orientated towards social-engaged art activity has an educational effect to improve joy of life, social connectedness and aesthetic knowledge. When Arts & Culture education is practiced at school where the real experiences and communications exist actively, the opportunity of artistic experience and student s ability to solve social problems themselves can be provided. Liewise, When Arts & Culture education has a direct connection with culture of students, it can harmonize education, life, and art for students. As this if the goal of educational curriculum revision in 2015 and is connected to the educational change that schools should carry out, the Arts & Culture education at school has the necessity to be done in various forms engaged deeply with real-life.
