국문 초록

한국, 중국, 일본의 근대미술교육은 당시 서구 교육사상의 흐름인 루소, 페스탈로치, 프뢰벨, 치젝 등의 미술교육의 이론과 아더 웨슬리 도우, 존 듀이 등의 미국미술교육의 영향을 받으면서 전개되었다. 1900년 전후 유럽과 미국에서 미술을 전공한 일본유학생들이 당시 서구미술교육의 흐름과 변화를 빠르게 파악하고 귀국 후 이를 이식하고 정착시켰다. 그 후 일본에 유학한 한국의 유학생은 우리나라 근대미술교육의 형성에 기여를 하였다. 중국 또한 유럽과 일본에 유학한 미술가나 교육자들은 서구 근대미술교육의 정착과 발전을 이끌었다. 서구근대미술교육의 이식과 정착 그리고 일본과 중국에서 근대 미술교육의 유입과 전개 등은 한국근대미술교육의 교육내용과 학습방법등의 체계를 구조화하는데 많은 영향을 주었다. 본 연구의 목적은 근대 서구미술교육이 한국, 중국, 일본 등 미술교육에 어떻게 영향을 주고 전개되었는지를 알아보고 이를 통해 직·간접으로 영향이 컸던 일본근대미술교육과 중국근대미술교육을 고찰하면서 한국 근대미술교육의 형성과정을 살펴보는 것이다. 외국의 교육이론이 도입되면서 근대 한국미술교육의 형성과정의 검토를 통하여 바람직한 우리 미술교육을 재정립하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Modern art education in Korea, Japan and China was influenced by the theories of Western art education whose advocators were Europeaneducator such as Jean Jacques Rousseau, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, Friedrich Wilhelm August Frobel, Franz Cizek and American educators, Arthur Wesley Dow and John Dewey. In the beginning, several Japanese who studied in America and Europe seized the trends and adapted the theories of Western art education. Their transplanted theories in their homeland were again imported and adapted to Korean modern art education to no small extent. The transplantation and fixation of Western modern art education along with inflow and development of modern art education in Japan and China greatly influenced to organize and build the teaching and learning methods and contents of Korean modern art education. The purpose of this study is to examine Korean modern art education as follows. Firstly, we try to find out how Western modern art education influenced art education in Korea, Japan and China. Secondly, we briefly investigate Japanese and Chinese modern art education which directly and indirectly influenced Korean art education. We try to re-establish our own desirable art education by inquiring into the formation of Korean modern art education which was done just by importing foreign education theories.
