국문 초록

영국의 교육철학은 20세기 중엽부터 하나의 학문 분야로서 본격적으로 정립되기 시작하였으며, ‘학문의 정립’, ‘발전과 전환’, ‘지평의 확장’, ‘자기반성’이라는 내러티브를 형성해오고 있다. 한국의 교육학계는 영국 현대교육철학의 성과를 수용하려는 노력을 부단히 기울이는 한편, 그 속에서 중요한 이론적 문제를 발견하고 그것을 비판적으로 고찰함으로써 독자적인 성과를 이룩하는 방향으로 나아갔다. 그 이론적 문제들은 ‘이론과 실제’, ‘경험과 실재’라는 두 개의 개념쌍으로 요약될 수 있다. 현재 한국의 교육학계는 그 자체의 고유한 내러티브를 써내려가고 있는 과정에 있으며, 그것이 가지고 있는 안팎의 풍부한 학문적 자양을 기반으로 정진한다면 영국 못지않은 교육철학의 새로운 본산으로 자리매김할 수 있다.

영문 초록

It is in the mid-twentieth century that the British modern philosophy of education has begun to be set up as an academic discipline. Four critical phases could be recognized in its history of development: establishment, development and turn, expansion of the horizon, self-reflection. While the educational world of South-Korea has paid undivided attention to the development of the British modern philosophy of education, it has detected, and delved deeply into, some critical issues of philosophy of education: the relations of theory and practice, and of experience and reality. While so doing, it has proceeded to have many significant achievements to its name. The educational world of South-Korea has been writing its own historical narrative, and with its internal and external rich intellectual assets it could present itself as a new home of philosophy of education before long.
