국문 초록

OECD가 주관하는 대규모 국제 비교 연구인 PISA에서 우리나라는 지속적으로 우수한 성취 결과를 보이고 있다. PISA는 OECD 회원국을 포함하여 전세계 70여개 이상의 국가가 참여한다는 점에서 우리나라 학교 교육의 실태를 점검하고 학생들의 성취 특성을 비교 검토하기 위한 자료로 유용하게 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 PISA 2015 결과 상위국인 싱가포르, 일본, 에스토니아, 캐나다를 비교 대상국으로 선정하여 우리나라 학생들의 수학 성취 특성을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 분석 대상국의 평균 점수 및 최상하위 비율을 살펴보고, 성취수준 집단별 비율 및 성별 평균 점수와 평가틀 차원별 정답률과 남녀 학생의 평균 정답률을 비교하였다. 또한 정답률이 가장 낮게 나타난 문항의 특성을 분석하였다. 이상의 분석 결과를 바탕으로 우리나라 학교 교육의 개선을 위한 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

In PISA, a large-scale international comparative study hosted by the OECD, Korea has consistently showed excellent results. PISA can be an instructive materials to check the status of school education in Korea and to compare students’ achievements as it is participated by students from more than 70 countries around the world, including OECD countries. In this study, the mathematics achievements of Korean students were analyzed in comparison with the top countries, having Singapore, Japan, Estonia, and Canada, as the comparison targets. To this end, the average score and the ratio of the highest and the lowest of target country were analyzed, and the percentage of achievement level and average scores by gender were compared, based on the rate of correct answers for each assessment framework section and the rate of average correct answers for boys and girls. In addition, the characteristics of the questions with the lowest correct answer rate were analyzed. Based on the results in this study, implications for improving school education in Korea were derived.
