디자인 사고 적용 대학원 강좌 운영이 유아교원의 창의적 문제해결력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학원 강좌에 디자인 사고를 적용하여 유아교원의 창의적 문제해결력에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 인천, 충남, 전북에 소재한 A, B, C대학교 대학원의 2018년 2학기 유아교육전공 강좌에 참여한 23명의 유아교원을 대상으로 하였으며, 2018년 10월부터 2018년 12월까지 10주 동안 IDEO(2011)가 개발한 툴킷을 수정·보완하여 수업에 적용하였다. 이를 위해 양적, 질적 자료를 수집하여 t검증과 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 디자인 사고 적용 대학원 강좌는 유아교원의 창의적 문제해결력 증진에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고(t=-2.593, p<.05), 5개 하위영역 중문제발견 및 분석 영역에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(t=-2.402, p<.05). 질적 분석 결과, 유아교원들은 디자인 사고 적용 대학원 강좌를 통해 창의적 문제해결력뿐만 아니라 문제 발견 및 분석, 아이디어 생성, 실행계획, 실행, 설득 및 소통에 있어 의미 있는 변화가 확인되었다. 이에 본 연구는 대학원 강좌에서 디자인 사고 적용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었고, 유아교원의 창의적 문제해결력 증진을 위한 새로운 교수방법을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines the effects of design thinking implemented in graduate courses on creative problem-solving abilities of early childhood educators. The participants, 23 former and current early childhood educators, attended early childhood education graduate courses at the three different universities each of which was located in Incheon, Chungcheongnam-do, and Jeollabuk-do. 「The Design Thinking for Educators」Toolkit developed by IDEO was revised and applied to each class for 10 weeks from October 16th, 2018 to December 20th to 2018. The quantitative and qualitative data were collected and analyzed by t-test and content analysis. The results show that the design-thinking-applied graduate courses had a positive effect on the educators’ problem-solving abilities(t=-2.593, p<.05). Among the five sub-areas, there was a statistically significant difference in the problem discovery and analysis(t=-2.402, p<.05). The qualitative analysis also shows that the educators perceived meaningful changes in all the sub-areas: discovering and analyzing problems, generating ideas, planning, performing, persuading and communicating. Based on the results, the study discussed the applicability of design thinking as a new approach to early childhood teacher education to improve their creative problem-solving abilities.
