유아주도놀이 실천에 대한 교사의 인식과 딜레마

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아주도놀이 실천에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 딜레마를 탐색해 봄으로 유아교육현장에서 유아중심교육과정을 내실화하고 유아주도놀이를 활성화하는데 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 2019년 3월 3주부터 6월 4주에 걸쳐 10명의 교사를 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 면담 내용은 녹음되고 전사하였다. 수집된 녹음자료는 전사하여 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 교사들은 유아주도 놀이 실천은 당연하다는 인식을 보였다. 그럼에도 유아주도놀이가 교사의 역할을 방임하는 것은 아닌지 혼돈과 갈등의 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 교사들은 유아주도 놀이를 통해 유아들이 즐거움을 느끼는 점은 인식하고 있었다. 그러나, 자유로운 형식에 의한 유아주도놀이로 인하여 소외되는 유아들도 존재하며 이를 어떻게 해결해야 하는지 고민하는 모습을 나타내었다. 셋째, 교사들은 유아주도놀이를 충실히 실천하는데 부모, 동료 교사, 원장의 평가를 인식하고 있어 조급함과 불안감을 나타내었다. 이상의 연구결과를 중심으로 유아주도 실천을 위한 교사 역할을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to explore the perceptions and dilemmas of early childhood teachers about child-led play and to provide basic data on invigorating child-led play in the field of early childhood education. To that end, 10 teachers had been interviewed from the 3rd week of March to the 4th week of June in 2019. The interviews were recorded, and the recordings were transcribed. The collected recordings were analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers have shown that it is natural to practice child-led play. Nevertheless, they have expressed confusion and conflict over whether the child-led play neglects the role of the teaches. Second, teachers recognized the joys of children through child-led play experiences. However, there are also children who are left out due to free form of child-led play, and teachers seem to be considering how to solve it. Third, Teachers felt a sense of impatience and anxiety as they recognized the evaluations of children’s parents, peer teachers and directors in faithfully practicing child-led play.Based on the above findings, we discussed the role of teachers in the practice of child-led play was discussed.
