국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 ‘역량기반 2015 체육과 교육과정’의 가능성과 과제를 탐색을 하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 역량기반 교육과정의 배경과 논리를 살펴보고, 핵심역량과 체육과 역량의 관계성을 중심으로 체육과 교육과정의 가능성과 과제를 도출하였다. 연구 결과 체육은 역량의 실천성 및 확장성 관점에서 학생의 종합적 능력을 키우고, 활기차고 건강한 삶과 같이 사회 문제와 교과를 연결할 수 있는 가능성을 지닌 교과로 분석되었다. 또한, 핵심역량과 체육과 역량의 관계성에 대한 논리적 근거가 다소 부족하나, 다른 교과에 비해 균형 있는 역량 중심 교육을 위한 체육과의 역할은 높아질 것으로 기대되었다. 반면, 신체활동 가치와 체육과 교과역량의 관계 정립, 교과역량의 개념 명료화, 체육의 인성적 가치에 대한 제고 등이 향후 과제로 제기되었다. 차후 체육과 교육과정 개선을 위한 제언으로 체육수업과 학교스포츠클럽 연계, 체육과의 인성적 가치 기여 제고, 체육교사의 교육과정 실천과정 및 교과역량에 대한 이론적 연구 강화를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the possibilities and tasks of ‘competency-based 2015 revised national curriculum for physical education’. To this end, this study examined the background and logic of the competencybased curriculum, and the relationship between core competences and physical education competences. The study found that physical education has been analyzed as a subject with the potential to develop a student s overall ability and to connect social problems with the subject, for example to seek a vibrant and healthy life. In addition, although logical basis may seem relatively weak for the relationship between core competences and physical education subject competences, physical education is expected to play a bigger role for balanced competency-based education, compared to other subjects. The study also presented future challenges, including, relationships building between physical activity values and physical education subject competencies, defining clear concept of physical education subject competencies, and enhancing awareness on the value of physical education. As a suggestion for further curriculum improvement, the study proposed to link physical education classes with school sports clubs, enhance the contribution of physical education to personality value, and strengthen research on the teachers’ practice in physical education curriculum and theoretical research on physical education subject competencies.
