대졸자의 전공계열에 따른 중장기적 고용안정성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 전공계열에 따른 노동시장 성과 분석을 목적으로 하여 외환위기 직후 대학졸업자의 노동시장 내 중장기적 고용안정성을 분석하였다. 연구대상은 한국노동패널(KLIPS) 자료 중 외환위기 직후인 1998년부터 2000년 사이 대학 졸업자 총 596명이며, 분석방법으로는 기술통계, 배열분석, 교차분석을 적용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고용안정성을 살펴보고자 직업경력 배열분석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 직업경력은 정규직 안정형, 장기 미취업형, 비정규직 전전형, 비임금근로 전전형으로 유형화 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 고용안정성에 대한 집단별 차이 검증결과 배경변수 중 대학유형은 그 차이가 유의하지 않았으며, 성별에서는 여성일수록 장기 미취업형과 비정규직 전전형이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 주요 연구변수인 대학 전공계열의 경우 이공계열 대비 인문사회계열이 장기 미취업형, 비정규직 전전형 비율이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 본 연구는 외환위기 이후 대학졸업자의 15년간 종단 데이터를 분석하여 직업경력을 유형화하고 나아가 전공계열에 따른 노동시장 성과를 분석함으로써 전공계열별 노동시장 성과 차이가 지속적·장기적 현상임을 밝혔다는데 의의가 있다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 인문사회계열 전공자의 노동 시장 성과 저하를 해결할 몇 가지 정책적 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is a difference by college major in the labor market performance such as employment stability after the financial crisis. A total of 596 college graduates from 1998 to 2000 immediately after the financial crisis in the Korea Labor & Income Panel Study(KLIPS) were included for analysis. Descriptive statistics, sequence analysis, and chi-square analysis were applied for this study. The results of the study are as follows. First, to analyze the employment stability, the sequence analysis for career was conducted. As a result, the career experience could be typified as regular workers, long-term unemployed workers, non-regular workers, and non-wage workers. Second, as a result of the group difference test on the employment stability, there was no significant difference in the type of university among the background variables, and in the gender, the female had the highest prevalence of long-term unemployed and non-regular employees. Third, in the case of college major, which is the main research variable, the ratio of humanities and social sciences to the total number of non-regular workers is higher than that of science and engineering. The purpose of this study is to analyze the data of the 15 years of university graduates after the financial crisis and to classify their career experience and to analyze the labor market performance according to the major field. Based on the results of this study, we made some policy suggestions to solve the labor market performance deterioration of major in the humanities and social sciences.
