실천적 문제 중심 가정과 수업에 대한 교사의 인식과 실행에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학교 가정과교사들의 실천적 문제 중심 수업에 대한 인식과 실태, 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행의 활성화 방안을 알아보는 데 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 전국에서 중학교에서 가정교과를 가르친 경험이 있는 교사 150명의 설문지 응답과 중학교 가정과교사 6인을 대상으로 한 면담 내용을 분석하였으며, SPSS/Win(Ver 10.1) 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, ANOVA, T-test, 상관관계를 산출하였다. 첫째, 중학교 가정과교사는 가정교과의 목적에 대해서 대부분이 실천적 문제 해결 능력을 키우는 것으로 응답하였다. 대부분의 가정과교사가 실천적 문제 중심 수업이 필요하다고 인식하고 있으나 실행 정도는 낮았으며 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식과 실행 정도에 상관관계가 없어서 가정과교사의 실천적 문제 중심 수업에 대한 인식과 실행의 부조화가 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 교사의 특성에 따른 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식과 실행 정도를 알아본 결과, 교사의 특성에 따라 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식이 유의하게 차이나지 않았으며, 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 실행 정도의 경우 교사의 교직경력, 발령교과에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 직업 만족도에 대하여 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식과 실행 정도가 정적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었으며 실천적 문제 중심 수업의 필요성 인식보다 실행 정도와의 상관관계가 더 컸다. 이로서 실천적 문제 중심 수업은 선행연구에서 밝힌 학생을 대상으로 한 효과검증 뿐 아니라 교사의 직업만족에도 관련이 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 동료교사와 자료 및 정보공유가 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행을 촉진하는 요인이며, 수업시수나 시간 부족과 실천적 문제 중심 수업에 대한 이해 부족이 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행을 저해하는 요인으로 나타났다. 실천적 문제 중심 수업 실행을 활성화하기 위한 방안으로 관련 교수ㆍ학습 과정안과 같은 학습 자료의 지원에 대한 요구가 높았으며, 수업시수의 확보, 이 수업의 밑바탕에 깔린 가정교과철학관련 연수, 이 수업을 이해하고 실천할 수 있게 하는 장기간의 교사 연수를 필요로 했다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate 1) how the middle school Home Economics teachers perceive the importance of the practical problem-focused instruction, 2) how often they perform the instruction, and 3) what they require for the implementation the instruction. Data were collected from 150 Home Economics teachers via e-mail survey and from 6 Home Economics teachers face-to-face interviews. Descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation, and the results of such analyses as ANOVA, T-test, and correlation were reported using SPSS/win 10.1. The results of this research were as follows:First, even though the majority of the respondents recognized the high need for practical problem-focused instruction, only a small portion of the respondents reported that they performed that instruction in the classroom. There was no correlation between the perception of the need for practical problem-focused instruction and the degree of performance of practical problem-focused instruction. Secondly, the degree of performance of practical problem-focused instruction was significantly different depending on the years of teaching experience and the subject that the teachers majored in. Job satisfaction had positive correlations with the perception of the need for practical problem-focused instruction and the degree of performance of practical problem-focused instruction. Thirdly, the more teachers shared information and materials with colleagues, the better they tended to be at practical problem-focused instruction. On the other hand, insufficient time for their instruction and a deficiency in understanding the rationale of the instruction were pointed out as barriers to classroom practice. The respondents answered that long-term training programs on the philosophical foundation of practical problem-focused instruction, materials related to the instruction as well as additional credits for Home Economics are most critical to reduce the discrepancy between the teacher perception and the classroom practice of practical problem-focused instruction.
