국문 초록

본 연구는 뇌 과학에 기초하여 부모의 강압적 훈육행동의 예측변인을 파악해냄으로써 실효성 있는 아동학대 예방교육을 제언하고자 하였다. 사고와 행동 간의 메커니즘을 밝히는 뇌 과학 연구결과에 기초하여 강압적 훈육행동에 영향을 미치는 인식 변인을 탐색하여 총 23문항의 연구도구를 개발하였다. 서울과 경기, 충청, 제주지역 344명의 영유아를 둔 학부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 상관분석과 단계적 중다회귀분석을 통해 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 부모의 강압적 훈육행동은 자녀에 대한 부정적 인식, 자녀 발달에 대한 자신의 확고한 역할인식, 과거 부모로부터의 양육경험에 대한 부정적 인식과 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 강압적 훈육행동을 예측하는 가장 주요한 변인은 과거 부모로부터의 양육경험에 대한 부정적 인식으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to suggest an effective parent education program for preventing child abuse by identifying predictive variables of parents’ coercive disciplinary behaviors based on brain science. Based on the results of brain science research that reveals the mechanisms between thoughts and behaviors in the brain, this study developed 23 research tools by searching for cognitive variables affecting coercive disciplinary behavior for young children. A survey was conducted of 344 parents of young children living in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Jeju provinces. The collected data were verified through correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis. As a result, it was found that parents’ coercive discipline was significantly correlated with negative perceptions of their children, their strong role perceptions of their children’s development, and the negative perceptions of their past experiences with their own parents. It was also found that the most important variable for predicting coercive disciplinary behavior of parents was the negative perceptions of the past experiences from their own parents.
