고등학교 특수학급의 성교육 실태에 관한 특수교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 장애학생들에게 나타나는 성태도와 특수학급 성교육 운영 실태를 알아보고 앞으로 성교육에 대한 요구를 분석하고 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 부산광역시 소재 특수학급을 담당하고 있는 교사 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 진행하였으며 그 중 6명의 교사들과는 초점집단면담을 실시하였다. 연구방법은 질적 연구의 면담법으로 진행하였으며, 자료 분석은 심층면담과 초점집단면담에서 전사한 내용을 분석하였다. 주제는 특수학급 장애학생들의 성지식과 성태도에 대한 이해도, 장애학생들에게 제공되는 성교육프로그램의 특성, 효과적인 성교육프로그램을 위한 개선점’의 3개로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 특수교사가 인식하는 특수학급 장애학생들은 성행동의 인식부족과 성태도에 대한 이해도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 특수교사가 진행하고 있는 성교육은 현장탐방, 전문 강사, 성교육자료등으로 성교육을 진행하고 있으나 현실성이 부족하고 체계적인 성교육이 진행되지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 특수교사들은 성교육을 위해 장애학생들의 특성에 맞는 성교육 프로그램의 개발을 요구하였고 교사 연수, 부모들의 성에 대한 바른 인식을 요구하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the current sexual attitude of special education students, the current condition of sex education in special education classrooms as well as analyze the demand for and future direction of sex education. Participants included ten special education teachers working in Busan, six of which participated in focus group interviews; A qualitative method was employed. Data was collected by in-depth interviews and was subsequently analyzed and interpreted for three main topics: special students’ understanding of knowledge of sexual matters, characteristics of sex educational program provided to special students, improvement for effective sex educational program. The results are as follows: First, the understanding of attitudes towards sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior by special education teachers was low. Second, sex education was proceeded by educational field, professional instructor and sex educational materials. However, in reality sex education was not systematic, nor there has been progress in the development of it. Third, special education teachers believed there was a great need to develop a sex education curriculum specifically for special education students, teacher training programs as well as identify strategies to help parents of special education students recognize the need for sex education.
