내현적 자기애와 SNS 중독경향성 간의 관계: 내면화된 수치심과 과시적 자기표현의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 내현적 자기애와 SNS 중독경향성의 관계에서 내면화된 수치심과 과시적 자기표현의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 대상은 전국의 SNS 이용자 20～50대 여자와 남자를 대상으로 총 378명에게 내현적 자기애 척도, SNS 중독경향성 척도, 내면화된 수치심 척도, 과시적 자기표현 질문지를 온라인 설문을 통해 실시하였다. 결과분석에는 SPSS 21.0과 AMOS 21.0이 사용되었다. 측정변인 간의 관계를 확인하였고, 변인 간의 구조적 관계 및 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 구조방정식 모형과 Bootstrapping을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 내현적 자기애와 SNS 중독경향성의 상관관계를 확인한 결과, 내현적 자기애와 SNS 중독경향성은 정적상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 SNS 중독경향성의 관계에서 내면화된 수치심과의 매개효과는 유의하였다. 셋째, 내현적 자기애와 SNS 중독경향성의 관계에서 과시적 자기표현과의 효과는 유의하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 내현적 자기애자의 SNS 중독에 대한 예방과 치료를 위해서 내면화된 수치심과 과시적 자기표현에 대한 개입이 필요함을 시사하고 이를 토대로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the mediating effects of internalized shame and conspicuous self-presentation on the relationship between covert narcissism and social networking sites (SNS) addiction proneness. Participants included 378 adult SNS users (157 males; 221 females). Measures included the SNS Addiction Proneness Scale, Covert Narcissism Scale, Internalized Shame Scale, and Conspicuous Self-presentation Scale. SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used for data analyses including reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, measurement model analysis, structural model analysis, structural equation modeling (to verify the research model), and the Bootstrapping method (to identify mediating effects). The research model demonstrated acceptable goodness of fit. The results indicated that SNS addiction proneness was positively correlated with covert narcissism, internalized shame, and conspicuous self-presentation. The mediating effect of both internalized shame and conspicuous self-presentation were significant in the relationship between covert narcissism and SNS addiction proneness. Implications, limitations and recommendations for future research are presented.
